I was always under the impression that the Justices were less influenced by their religious views and more by their judicial views. (That's why they are Justices and not preachers.)

Did you have to find the example from Texas. We are still dealing with the anti American Ted Cruz and the attempt to of the Texas attorney General to force Georgia to change their vote (as if Texas has any jurisdiction over another state!!) and lets not forget that they wanted to restrict the city of Houston to only one drop off box for early votes and tried to through out 100,000 votes from Harris county (Houston area). It is getting to the point that I do not to drive beyond the Austin city limits.

They're Trump appointees. We can hope for that. We'd be fools to count on it just yet.

They are conservatives and that is what I expect from them, protecting the status quo. They are unlikely to overturn established law. And Roe v. Wade is well established.

(Besides that, abortion is an effective voter trap. I.e. talking about it is good for votes, delivering takes away the incentive. Nobody in Washington really wants to overturn Roe v. Wade. Just as dems aren't really going to deliver on social issues. Just enough to keep voters hooked.)

Why does Texas keep electing such dubious politicians such as Paxton and Abbott?

The decision isn't yet on the SCOTUS site.

Since none of the reports I can find mention otherwise, I assume the decision was unanimous. If that's right, then the Trump appointees, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett, voted for it.

If that's not right, the division will be interesting reading,

If we are talking about this ...

    Texas abortion policies
The Munsingwear doctrine came into play again on Monday in a petition filed by Planned Parenthood, seeking to lift decisions by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit that permitted Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) to carry out executive orders barring most abortions at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Planned Parenthood argued that because Abbott has now replaced the orders with a different policy allowing abortions to resume, the 5th Circuit’s rulings should be vacated and the case should be dismissed as moot. The justices agreed.

... the ruling seems less than dramatic.

I avoid making predictions about those constitutional originalists,
literalists, & strict constructionists when ruling on things relating
to religious beliefs. Who knows where their loyalties lie.

In this case it's a good instance to be wrong.
