Yeah things like salmon done 4 ways or beef stew made with ribeye steak cooked in red wine for 8 hours. Real food, not that finger food you like
If you don't have dian xin (dim sum) then you are indeed impoverished.
Btw, I've never had a 4-way with a salmon.

Have you ever had it sliced and fried with a full Scottish breakfast. Truly wonderful

Here, best of both worlds, full Scottish with the addition of black pudding... It will put hairs on your hairs

I think you're mistaking me for someone that eats meat. ;)

Just had tikka masala for tea. Clearly I'm not living in France. :D

Very little Asian food unfortunately but excellent french food to make up for it
That's what Frenchie on the plane said.
Weird....no Thai, Vietnamese, Tibetan, Chinese, Korean, Filipino, etc?
Surely, you can at least get some Vietnamese, eg, bon mi.
To make do with one kind of food....that's survival.
How about mid-east, eg, Greek, Lebanese, Persian?
Mexican, Tex-Mex, Italian, Moroccan, Senegalese, Indian?

Alas, I must go to Chicago or Edinboro PA for Persian.
And we lost our Senegalese eatery....spicy stuff!

There's a really good Thai restaurant 10 minutes away, acouple of Chinese, and a Vietnamese in Sarlat about 1/2 hour away, not bad. A couple of good Italians close by. We are lacking any America style restaurants but there is an American style (they have an Indian (bike) in the window) cafe that does chilli burger and fries. And french restaurants every other doorway.

For more variety we would need to go to Toulouse (2 hours), Perigueux (1& 1/2 hours) Bordeaux (2 & 1/2 hours) Bergerac (1 hour 20 mins)

France sounds inconvenient.
Our small town has great variety.
But chili on a burger....no....never.
Burgers should have a slice of raw onion & tomato....perhaps some blue cheese.

The food in local restaurants is the best so im happy.

We have 2 great restaurants here in the village, one is Michelin rated but i think the other has the better chef.

Gherkin in place of onion on burgers in England and tomato ketchup. Yuck, no wonder i avoid fast food.

Michelin is for tires.
I prefer the eateries that I rate highly.
Btw, if the only burgers you eat are the fast food variety, you're missing out.

Same company.

So do i, if i dont rate them then i dont return.

I make burgers with fresh ground beef, onion and egg to bind, with a little herbs de Provence and a touch of salt and pepper, no breadcrumbs, no sawdust, just tasty food.

Many years ago i found a burger take away that made their own on premises and cooked over an open charcoal fire, the choice of relishes was amazing too.

See!
Even a frog can enjoy common fare.
I prefer lean ground beef....nothing added.
The raw onion & tomato slices are the spices.
