How to pray guide

HOW TO PRAY GUIDE Matthew 6:10-13

PRAISE for who he is
for what he was done
OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN,
HALLOWED BY THY NAME

REPENT of sins i have commited
of commands i have neglected
AND FORGIVE OUR DEBTS, AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS

ASK for the needs of others.
for my needs
GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD
AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, BUT
DELIVER US FROM EVIL

YIELD my will to God's will
my agenda to God's agenda for me
THY KINGDOM COME. THY WILL DE DONE ON
EARTH AS IT IN HEAVEN.
FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER ,
AND GLORY, FOR EVER. AMEN

Wow, that is so very different from what prayer looks like in my tradition... haha.

But now I feel this dumb urge to come up with a cute acronyms and steps for it.

Eh, nah, it's gone.

I appreciate the curiosity!

There is one common element that is worth touching on first - that's an attitude of gratitude, or what is called "praise" in the template you shared with us. Giving thanks to the gods is part of my day-to-day as a Druid as well as a component of ritual.

The other elements are more or less absent, unsurprisingly, because I'm not Christian. I have no gods for which I need to beg forgiveness or redemption or salvation from in my tradition. And while humility before the gods is expected and encouraged (they are Greater, after all), surrendering of one's own power and will is not. In short, there's no shaming or supplication in the prayers of my tradition.

In place of that, are practices that facilitate mystical experiences and deepened connections with the gods. Relaxation exercises. Meditations. Chantings. Telling stories. Singing songs or playing instruments. Hand gestures and motions of the body. Channelling of nwyfre. Being taken by the awen. Journeying into the otherworlds. Divinations. Imbibing of teas. Smelling of incense. Stuff like that. It's all very active and sensual and embodied (while also at times paradoxically disembodied and spiritual).
