Psalm 146 describes the work of the God of Jacob but this is also the job description of the Messiah
and Jesus walks into a Synagogue, opens the book and applied it to himself reading the similar Isaiah 61 chapter. The work of God is carried to the ends of the earth in the gospel, freeing, helping, feeding not merely physically but spiritually
He throws their sin into the ocean in a new exodus, he protects the unborn instead of boiling a kid in its mothers milk, he feeds those who hunger for righteousness and he cloths the naked with his righteousness and adopts the lost as his brothers and prepares a bride for himself
How does similar work in other religious view?
Jesus did feed people, but I find according to Luke 4:43 Jesus' main focus was his preaching the kingdom of God of Daniel 2:44 because that is the long-term solution and physical blessings as mentioned at Revelation 22:2.
So, besides starting his preaching campaign in the synagogue, Jesus went to the people and instructed his followers to do the same, and do it on a grand international scale as being done today - Matthew 24:14; Acts 1:8; 20:20; Acts 16:13.
Besides Jesus' ' brothers ' of Matthew 25:40 prepared as a bride for himself, Jesus also has those figurative humble 'sheep'-like people of Matthew 25:37 who Jesus' considers as righteous ones for treating his ' brothers' well.
So, to me the 'similar work' is that both Jesus' ' brothers' and the humble ' sheep ' do the 'same spiritual work' that Jesus said to do at Matthew 28:18-20,
