Northern California could have rolling blackouts due to the heat. I'm in outage area '50' which is supposed to mean no outage. We'll see.

Yes, I'm in NorCal as well. We'll see how it goes over the next few days. Supposed to be like 107 here today. :fearscream:

if you lose power and get too hot, fill your bathtub with room temp. water and hop in, that'll cool you down.

Here in Detroit area it's supposed to be in the upper 70's for us tomorrow, and that's plenty hot enough for me.

Not quite death valley standards but we've had the hottest july since 1996.

August is turning out to be cooler, thank goodness, with the temperature for the next 10 days to be up to 35c (95f) with plenty of thunder storms.

Be glad everyone isn't driving electric cars over there. You'd be up a creek with no paddle.

People with solar roofs are in great shape especially those with storage. We are in a transition and not everything is fully in place yet.
I've been seeing a lot more solar panels in my area as well. Both permanent and portable.

Sheesh. That's hot.
Do many people live in that part of the state?
I'm assuming temperatures are more generally high in the region too?

Yes, Death Valley is well known as being a very hot place. I don't think many people actually live there. I think it may be a state or national park, actually.

Yesterday the aptly-named Death Valley, California recorded a high temperature of 130 degrees Fahrenheit/54.4 degrees Celsius. It is the highest temperature recorded on Earth since 1913. :grimacing:

Stay cool everyone! :blueheart:

My Jeep thermostat registered 102 degrees F at one point here in the PNW. It should never get that hot up here... I left the Southwest so I wouldn't see another triple digit day.

The winter forecast predicts above average temperatures and drier conditions all across the South and hottest in the Southwest. Not the best news for the fire prone west. Over all the world temperatures are predicted t be the hottest or second hottest in recorded history. A replay of 2013-14 maybe hotter.
