[Cordoba]

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said:

"Excellence in faith is to worship your Lord as if you see Him, and though You do not see Him, know that He sees you."[/FONT] [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said:

[FONT=Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"He is sagacious who brings his soul to reckoning and works for what comes after death; and he is inadequate who follows his passions and harbors (illusory) hopes in God."[/FONT]

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said:

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said:

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]By Allah, we do not appoint to this position* one who asks for it, nor anyone who is covetous for it.[/FONT]

(Hadith in Sahih Muslim)

* What is meant by (this position) here is a high public or political position with authority.

This hadith is a warning against asking for a public position merely for a personal benefit without considering its responsibilities and the required capabilities for fulfilling them.

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was asked:

"What actions are most excellent?"[/FONT]

He (peace be upon him), said:

[FONT=Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"To gladden the heart of human beings, to feed the hungry, to help the afflicted, to lighten the sorrow of the sorrowful and to remove the suffering of the injured." [/FONT]

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said:

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]“There are seven whom Allah will shade in His Shade on the Day when there is no shade except His Shade:

1- a just ruler;

2- a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah;

3- a man whose heart is attached to the mosques;

4- two men who love each other for Allah's sake, meeting for that and parting upon that;

5- a man who is called by a woman of beauty and position [for illegal intercourse], but he says: 'I fear Allah';

6- a man who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives in charity;

7- and a man who remembered Allah in private and so his eyes shed tears.”

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said:

"A man felt very thirsty while he was on the way, there he came across a well.

He went down the well, quenched his thirst and came out.

Meanwhile he saw a dog panting and licking mud because of excessive thirst.

He said to himself, "This dog is suffering from thirst as I did." So, he went down the well again, filled his shoe with water, held it with his mouth and watered the dog.

Allah appreciated him for that deed and forgave him."

The Companions said,

"O Allah's Messenger! Is there a reward for us in serving the animals?"

He replied:

"There is a reward for serving any living being."

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said:

Muslim (19:4294) - "When you meet your enemies who are polytheists [Christians...], invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them ... If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them"
