"Might agree?" I adore her performance -- one of the best ever! Chenowith is an absolutely fabulous artist.
Barbara Cook was the standard (IMO) by whom
all are judged. Tis not for me to say who's better.
I just prefer Chenowith's comedic approach.
(I heard a dozen or so others perform it.)

Another favorite performance....

How about a comparison -- same song, two artists. This is Mozart, the Magic Flute, Queen of the Night Aria. The first is by a real opera talent, the second by a rich American woman (Florence Foster Jenkins), who really believed she could sing!

Fabulous performance by a great performer! And not a bad object lesson about how to indoctrinate Americans.

Disturbed - Sounds of silence

Vocals don't get much more powerful...

Not into songs so much, more into the apparently 'weird' and off kilter where it comes to music but do have a soft spot for this and RIP.
