Feeding Ducks Marijuana is Illegal

Cannabis fed to ducks by French farmer for 'deworming' said:
A French farmer has been given a one-month suspended jail sentence and fined 500 euros (£428) for feeding his ducks marijuana to rid them of worms.

Police arrested Michel Rouyer after they discovered 12 cannabis plants and about 5kg (11lb) of the drug during a visit to his home after a theft.

Mr Rouyer said there was "no better worming substance" for ducks and that his flock was in excellent health.

A police spokesman said it was the first time they had heard such a claim.

Mr Rouyer, who lives in the village of Gripperie-Saint-Symphorien on France's Atlantic coast, did also admit to smoking some of the marijuana.

I don't know why anyone would FEED a duck marijuana :facepalm:... who DOES that? If the duck wants to eat it, it will do so on it's own. It's just plain dumb to feed anything like that to an animal.

There was no law against it, which is why the pot-heads probably thougbht it was okay. :rolleyes:

The law can barely keep up with human stupidity (which is infinite).

I find it especially strange that the country with laws like this would take offense to force-feeding a duck marijuana:

From the para below you can see that the man got away lightly with his duck story/theories as he must have been growing for his own consumption for all we know!

This means law makes a difference between drug possession and drug use. Possession of cannabis falls under the new penal code, whilst use still falls under the law of 1970.
The penalties for cannabis use are a sentence from two months up to a year and/or a fine from 500 Francs to 25,000 Francs. The more serious criminal offences like possession, cultivation or trafficking of drug (cannabis) can be punished much more severely, up to ten years sentence (and from 500.000 to 50 million French Francs).

Actually alot of animals enjoy eating marijuana. Some animals even like inhaling the smoke when people are smoking and blowing it into their faces.
