Favorite Buddha Quote

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
For me it's the first Noble Truth that life is pain and suffering. It's not at all the kind of quote that's flowery or comforting, yet I have a tendency to think of this profound truth often, and for some reason this goes a long way in helping me to fully accept things as they are and helps me to appreciate the moments where suffering is not so intense and to endure when they are.

I feel the same way about the three marks of existence.

Yes. Same here as well now you mention it. I definitly prefer* to look at the straight skinny of things much as possible. In reminiscing, there was a fellow I came across years ago in another forum who was fond of, "Drinking his wiskey straight, with no chaser." I didnt quite understand why he always said that till much later on when I got the gist of it.

*Provided I got the nerve.
