In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the passing of Abdul'baha, a new video has been released on His life.

It was a life of example of unity and peace.

If you choose to watch, it is just over 55 minutes and I hope you enjoy.

Regards Tony
Unity and peace are certainly worthy goals. The world is a mess, largely because of religion. It was religion that elected President W. Bush (Religious Right), and he screwed up the world with pollution, global warming, homelessness, recession, and debt.

It's like a chicken putting her faith in Kentucky Fried Chicken. Perhaps we should strive for unity and peace through discussion rather than through religion?

That it is your opinion. He is not an 'Exemplar' for all people. Some will consider his father and him as a divider of humanity for having started a new religion.

God knew (and knows) the future. So, the Christian religion is not really new to God. Why, then, did God not teach Christianity from the very beginning, rather than starting with the Jewish religion?

The answer is quite simple...Christianity is a new message for a new people.

The old message (to Jews) was "an eye for an eye."

The new message (to Christians) is "turn the other cheek."

If Christians were hot headed, they would launch nukes (because they are in charge of the United States, and the US has nukes. So, God said that Christians (who possess modern nukes) must turn the other cheek (be meek). Otherwise, the entire earth would become a gigantic nuclear fireball.

Abdul'baha did offer a thought along those lines.

"Religion should unite all hearts and cause wars and disputes to vanish from the face of the earth; it should give birth to spirituality, and bring light and life to every soul. If religion becomes a cause of dislike, hatred and division, it would be better to be without it... Any religion which is not a cause of love and unity is no religion." Abdu'l-Bahá

Great, well done India, then unity and peace with all humanity, will be easily embraced in India.

The video is about an example as to how we one and all can join in that peaceful intent.

Regards Tony
A couple of decades ago, India and Pakistan almost nuked each other. That doesn't sound like peace (though, once dead, the fighting will end).

On the other hand, the only people who have used nukes in anger, is a Christian based Nation.

Personally I see India still has many issues, but time will tell how we will embrace our unity.

Have there been no wars, no atrocities after Japan was nuked? So, even the new messengers, be it Joseph Smith, Bahaollah or Mirza Ghulam Ahmad failed. God still has the need to send more messengers. Going by what the previous messengers did, it seems to be a futile exercise, something went out of God's hand completely and cannot be mended. God's plans always misfire.
God said that two milleniums ago, but the world remains like what it is. Now that US and Russia have stopped stock piling nukes, China and Pakistan are doing it.

That is why we are asked to follow the Example of Abdul'baha. His life was all about love unity, unity, justice and peace, based on the oneness, but wonderful diversity of all humanity.

So the question then becomes, is it God that has failed, or is it us humans that God allows to make their own choices that have failed?

What we can know, is that we do have the capacity to build a united loving world. Abdul'baha's life showed us that capacity. His forgiveness and Love was that of God's, his life was the example of our potential.

I wish you and your family and your Nation always well and happy Aupmanyav

I see that is the quandary of life and faith in God Aupmanyav. Gods plan is long term, it does not happen overnight. As you have offered, there are many wonderful examples of people that work for the good of others, that I see work towards fostering a world where all are loved and are treated in a just and fair manner.

To date the plan has been to offer choices to enable us to build families, villages, towns, cities and nations with people working together for the good of all. Now it is time to build a united world.

We need to build Nations upon the foundations that justice and a fair go for all people is required, they in turn will elect representatives for a world embracing change.

Abdul'baha gave his life to show us how to do that, this Saturday is the 100th anniversary of his passing.

All the best in the future Aupmanyav

It amounts to the same thing. If God exists then his engineering failed us. If you know the Indian mythological story of Bhasmasura, then Shiva's boon to him that every thing on which he put his hand will turn into ash, was an ill-advised gesture. However, Lord Vishnu made fun of Lord Shiva (to fool Bhasmasura) and asked Bhasmasura to place his hand on his own head to check his power. Bhasmasura did that and was immediately turned into. So this God also gave a very ill-advised boon to humans, i.e., free will. And see what humans have done with it.

Gave his life mean? What do you mean? Was he martyred? Was he crucified? After 4 years in Acre (1872) and when he was 28, he never faced any problem, and never worked for his living. Even in Acre, Bahaollah and his entourage were confined to the barracks, but never faced any torture. Abdul Baha talked, traveled and lived by what his followers provided him, which was not insubstantial. We talk of giving one's life when we talk of Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr. or Nelson Mandela.

The video covers a short history. There is no intent to give a detailed history of the Faith as part of this OP Aumanyav. You have said a lot of things that are not correct. I will not correct them here, as it would turn into a large historical account.

All the best and much happiness to you.

A peaceful man in a violent world is obligated to argue for peace with cogent and powerful logic.

Many nations opposed President W. Bush's attack on Iraq. Every peaceful person on earth should have honed their arguments and joined the debate.

The murder of one of God's children (and we are all God's children), is an attack on God.

Sorry, forgot to mention Che Guevara.

Necklacing - Wikipedia

Winnie Mandela (Nelson's wife) tortured prisoners to death by placing a car tire around their necks, filling it with kerosene or gasoline (petrol), then lighting it on fire (called necklace).

Winnie Mandella: "With our boxes of matches, and our necklaces, we shall liberate this country." (source: website above).

Defending his wife, Nelson said that those who object to this torture are like little children.

Nelson belittled others for objecting to torture, yet, he is said to be a man of peace who was jailed for his moral convictions.

Mankind needs heroes to put on pedestals and worship. Some are heroes of peace, some are heroes of religion.

Most are heroes with feet of clay, not worthy of such adoration.
