Had an EEG today. About a week and a half ago, I passed out at work and folks reported that I looked like I had a bit of a seizure. Spent 12 hours in the ER, which is a whole other story. My PCP had me talk to a neurologist who ordered an EEG, just to be safe. So that happened today. They wanted me to be sleep deprived with the idea that I would take a nap during the procedure - ha. ha. I stayed up and only slept 5 hours last night, but was awake through the whole procedure. Should get results in a few days. Fingers crossed!

Oh so many memories! I have seizures and went through all of that mess. I hope you don't have them and they find out what's going on. Sometimes people have seizures once or twice in their lifetime and won't have any for the rest of their lives and others grow out of them.

    Fingers crossed.

Agreed. I used to have seizures from a medication interaction and at least one caused by alcohol. Fingers crossed, indeed.

My doc thinks it was most likely vasovagal so nothing serious to be worried about. But better safe than sorry. Sorry to hear about your seizures! Hope they're under control. Thanks for your kind words.

I blacked out and had a seizure once. It's the scariest thing I don't remember, except for the confusion when I regained consciousness. I do hope yours was nothing serious, as mine was (I neglected to eat on a day of heavy physical activity and my blood sugar got way too low). And, apparently you aren't supposed to drive for for a certain period of time if you have a seizure. No one at the hospital where I was taken to the ER told me this, my PCP didn't tell me this, but the neurologist who did my EEG did, with this being only a couple weeks left into that no-drive period.

They informed me in the ER that in Cali all losses of consciousness have to be reported to the DMV, so my license may be suspended. When I followed up with my PCP, he was thankfully very reassuring and let me know that they'll mail me a form and he'll be happy to fill it out, he's not worried about my driving. Phew!

I can definitely see California being way more on top of stuff like that than Indiana, lol.

I hope this is all resolved soon and it is nothing to be concerned about. It sounds like you were right on top of things and got the health care you needed. It sounds like you are in good spirits in spite of it all. I would be a train wreck if that happened to me.

A couple of weeks ago I had a health scare because suddenly I could not think as clearly as I usually do, so I had to go to urgent care and then to see an internist. The internist ran a complete blood panel but found nothing to be concerned about, so she thinks it was most likely brought on by anxiety and depression owing to a recent loss. It has started to get better but I am still in a slump.

I think I had a seizure once (lying in bed) - like the brain being electrocuted - when I tried to wean myself off of anti-anxiety medication too quickly - apparently one effect of doing so. My doctor just seemed to dismiss this but I know what happened, and I left it at that, since no further issues. I subsequently slowed down my weaning and did successfully get off the medication - which I had been using for about 7 or 8 years, and not really needing.
