I am, actually.Uh...nope.
Unless you’re defining “god” as an anthropomorphitized being, of course.

I am, actually.Uh...nope.
Unless you’re defining “god” as an anthropomorphitized being, of course.
If I am the only human being on earth, all I need to call myself is "human".
What does the one thing have to do with the other?
All gods are anthropomorphisms.
Regardless, human beings are social creatures that give names to the things they think about and interact with (or just believe they interact with).
Thus disproving that assigning a proper name is a human need.
Again, assigning a proper name is needed to differentiate like beings.
It seems like you're asking for the point of human nature. Humans name things. If I am the only human being on earth, all I need to call myself is "human".

There's no need for me to call my coffee maker "Chester Coffeepot," but that doesn't change the fact that this is its name.
Explains nothing. As I already said, monotheism.
Yes. Humans name things. Hadn't you noticed? So basically it is a human need.
If you only wanted to hear from people who agree with you, you could have put your thread in Same Faith Debates or a DIR.Your anti God arguments could be kept for another thread.
aren't you indicating by the capitalization that this is somehow a name ?Very good. So whats your point?
That is a strange conclusion. "Human" addresses species but that doesn't mean that you can't give yourself a name separate to that that doesn't address your species. Names involve other elements such as meaning, emotion etc. It is a form of self expression too. If god wishes to express himself through a name, why not?
Also, why do you think that "need" has to come into the discussion? God could give himself a name just because he wishes to.
That would be a sad, sad world. What if there was only one single coffee maker in the whole of the world???
Yes. Humans name things. Hadn't you noticed?
That would be a sad, sad world.
In that situation, I doubt I would let my coffee maker go without a name. If anything, I'd keep the name "Chester Coffeepot" and lose the description "coffee maker." After all, it's meaningless to talk about a category of things where there's only one example.
Then there's your answer: God has a name because humans name things.I agree. There is no need to get anything into a twist mate.

then why capitalize the word?
