Does anyone know what happened to the golden plates?

Yes those vanishing golden plates, I am slightly jealous I can't believe in something like that, you don't know how lucky you are.

I don't believe they 'vanished', they were just taken away by God. Vanishing implies that their substance was destroyed.

If I was making up a religion, I would not have thought I could pass of an idea like "the golden plates", that just goes to show how little I know about the gullibility of man, I would have sworn I would have been laughed out of town, I suppose I give people more credit than they are due.
