Do we congratulate families that baptize their kids?

Sorry, this is not a debate but a general question. Couldn't really find the right forum.

I was just invited to my cousin's daughter baptism. My family and I can not make it.

Is it formal to congratulate them on the baptism? What's the etiquette here?

I'm not religious so I don't know but I want to be courteous to my cousin.

Thanks!
Wouldn't such a celebration be purely for the ones in that denomination?!

How can other minded people congratulate someone for an act they do not believe in?!
This is just my opinion.
Would I congratulate someone for coming out, for becoming atheist, for joining some church I disapprove of? No!

No, actually it's a family thing.
Not everybody is quite as small minded.

My family is divided by opposing strong religious issues and by atheism. If you have to insult me, that is up to you. I simply stated what not everyone, even within families can celebrate the same things.
