I'm going to start doing this because more learned people say so.
(I like doing what I'm told...tis in me nature.)
After doing a teensie bit'o research, I'll use alcohol.
(And it's now on sale at Menards.)

I have done the similar since I was a wee lad. Still don't see a reason to disinfect my surgery tools though.

Have a few drinks and you'll feel disinfected. Or something.

@Shad intervened with some actual facts. I suspect that it's like everything else - sometimes a good idea and sometimes a waste of time.

Does the alcohol have to be from Menards? Can it be from a grocery store in 12 oz., amber bottles? Do I have to apply it to the tools? That seems like such a waste.

It's faster than bleach, & less corrosive than other things.
They caution that alcohol is flammable, but I don't worry about that.

Menards alcohol is less than $9/gallon.
The amber colored stuff is much spendier....& it leads to napping.

I used to not worry about that either. Until the incident.

Sometimes I do not even do what I was going to do and just think I did. Maybe the cheaper stuff would be better.

Especially for little Timmy. Gosh, I miss him. And Lassie had just saved him from the well too.

Yah I could see one not feeling/see it is needed for small private garden compared to a business.
