common ground

IndigoChild5559

Loving God and my neighbor as myself.
I think there is often a conflict between being nice to yourself and being nice to others.

This is likely the area where all the drama gets launched from.
I think that when we put our own gratification ahead of the good for others, we inevitably do damage to ourselves. There is a difference between pleasure and happiness. For example, I can lie and use someone for sex tonight, and have pleasure, but pursuing one night stands is going to inevitably leave me jaded, and interfere with my ability to form fulfilling well-bonded intimate relationships and creating family.

The common ground is the golden rule ''be nice to yourself and others''
I'm not sure where you're living that everyone you see is actually following this rule, but wherever it is I want to move there.
