I'm entirely willing to renounce all my support of Just War theory if some can irrefutable show me that Just War is unbiblical,

I have yet to be convinced

I think it depends on how you interpret certain portions of the Bible such as:

You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Jesus seemed to be very much the pacifist.
However he gave no encouragement to those who wanted to oust the Romans by force. At the same time he said nothing against the idea.
When he said "give unto Rome that which is Rome's" he was in many ways accepting the status quo.

An eye for an eye was countered by "turn the other cheek" and" love thy enemy"
He is not recorded as commenting on "the just war" concept. "But he did teach that the weak should be protected"

It looks as if he thought that there was a balance to be stuck between "Good and Evil" and this could some times include direct action.

Sitting on the Fence???
I don't think so... I think the Justice of a situation is the decider.

And that's where I'd point to live by the sword die by the sword, he may not happen been speaking of the government's force

Not that that doesn't sound like Jesus but won't you mind a quote :D

Such as when Christ cleared the temple (John 2:12-25)

Jesus was certainly a realist, I think that saying was not so much giving an option, as stating a fact.

It has the right ring, but I can't recall at the moment.:sorry1:

"Thou shall not kill"?
Is it Kill or Murder?
to my knowledge and from the council of my Israeli friend, it's murder

Granted God may have might murder in the Old Conveant and magnified it as he did with the other commandments to include killing now.

We do see Just War in the Old Testament, it may have been a tolerated evil, but I still have trouble recociling it with Pacifism

I am sure the old testament is not the place to find the Christian message.
The Jews were well into God helping with their smiting.
After all they had a covenant to that effect.

:help:
You know my ancestor were some of the first Mennonites, really been on my mind lately

As a free church the Mennonites had a lot going for them. however the various schisms have left a very splintered Church that will not even speak to each other.
Their very nature precludes a common theology.
Their practise of shunning is very hurtful to those pushed out of a group.

They are to be commended for their work for peace and disaster relief.

Dr. Greenthumb
St. Augustine said, "Take away justice, and what are kingdoms but mighty bands of robbers"

Justice does not call for us to be pure pacifist. To allow thous who want to harm us, walk all over us. Just war calls for defense when attack in imminent, and when the actions will result in damages not as great as the threat. It is fair and realistic.

For the most part I hold this view

But I want to be absolutely bible constient.

Early Christians (who hold a lot of doctirnes I flat on reject, mostly on Bibilical grounds) were devout pacifists, their may be reasons for this, but I feel I owe them a fair hearing of their point of view, lest we forget.

Under the oppression of Nero we see no resistance from the Christians

and just some words of the Church fathers
A soldier of the civil authority must be taught not to kill men and to refuse to do so if he is commanded, and to refuse to take an oath. If he is unwilling to comply, he must be rejected for baptism. A military commander or civic magistrate must resign or be rejected. If a believer seeks to become a soldier, he must be rejected, for he has despised God.
—Hippolytus of Rome
How can a man be master of another's life, if he is not even master of his own? Hence he ought to be poor in spirit, and look at Him who for our sake became poor of His own will; let him consider that we are all equal by nature, and not exalt himself impertinently against his own race[...]

and under the oppression of nero paul wrote romans
13:1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.

If you have complete faith and trust in God to meet all of your true needs, and if you acknowledge the world of the flesh as a mere shadow of the Kingdom of God to come, what possible reason could you ever have to take up arms?
