He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of his beloved Son. (Colossians 1:12-13)
READINGS:
1. 2 Samuel 5:1-3
2. Colossians 1:12-20
3. Gospel of Luke 23:35-43
REFLECTION: Jesus taught that he would lead in ways other than the people expected. Instead of leading them in battle against enemy nations, he would fight against the enemies of spiritual darkness and evil. Jesus would lead people into the kingdom of his Father now on earth and forever.
PRAYER: Father all powerful, God of love, You have raised our Lord Jesus Christ from death to life, resplendid in glory as King of Creation. Bring all humankind together in Jesus Christ your Son. Amen.
