Burqa for men

Cypress

Dragon Mom
There is currently a discussion about the burqa and if it should be banned.
Some say that women are forced to wear the burqa while others claim it is their free choice.
Be that as it may, one thing is sure - men should definitely wear burqas.

Ever thought about how our world could be if mens’ behavior were as controlled as womens’?
No more school rowdies - who can put up a fist-fight in a burqa?
No macho anywhere - forced to pay constant attention upon the fitting of their long dress, covering them from head to toe, men will hardly be able to pay attention to anything else.
Quite suitable also the grid that covers the eyes - it lets men see what is in front of them but keeps their eyes from glancing on womens’ bottoms.

What a wonderful world this would be if only some essential dressing & behavior rules for men could be accomplished.

lol nice!

maybe if men had to wear a burqa they'd realize how difficult it is to function in it and would stop trying to force women to wear it.

Why do you think this is funny?

How much energy, how much force is spend on controlling women and womens' sexual powers.
Just stop for one moment and try to imagine what our world would be like had all this force been used to control men and mens' agression.

In Saudi Arabia women are not allowed to drive.
Now stop for one moment and try to imagine a world were men are not allowed to drive.
Men are more aggressive than women.
Forbidding men to drive would result in a drastic reduction of fatal car-accidents.

Many Islamic countries forbid women to leave the house without being escorted by a male member of the family.
But since men are more agressive than women, would it not be better to forbid men to leave the house without being accompanied my a female member of their family?
Try to imagine a world where police-women patrol the streets of every city, and where every man spotted unaccompanied by a woman were brought to the next police station and kept there until a female member of his family comes to guard him home.
Can you imagine the drastic effect on violent crime rates, how different our cities would look like?

Nobody should be forced under state or familial control based on their genitalia.

I do think male burqas would be a great social science experiment, though.

blackout

Violet.
They should be encouraged with EQUAL ZEAL.

and where one is enforced/pressured
so should be the other.

I agree it would be a WONDERFUL social experiment.

If the muslims won't do it,
I'm sure there are many western men
artist types, sociologist types
who would pave the way. ;)

(of course, we might have to CALL them something else,
so as not to offend. People are very attached to their "special" labels.)

Artist & sociological types of men have enough sensitivty to recognize the fealings of women, no need for them to try and wear a burqa.
It's the reactionist we need to get under the veil.

Damn, I'm trying to imagine a female archaeologist working in the middle east with a full veil.
not only would it be unbearable, it would take all the fun of having women working in comfortable clothes around you, bad for team morale.

sorry, i was laughing a bit at the image of men trying to fight in a burqa.

i have always tried to imagine a world where men were held to the standard that women are. you're right; they generally are the aggressors and women pay the price in ALL societies.

I believe it's because women overall make too many excuses for men. And that we don't believe we have that much pull over their behavior. We give them waaaayyyyyy too much power (as my husband jokes, that he would never WANT that much power). Why do you think I carry around a whip?
