"Bra Storm"

If a girl is old enough that she can't get away with wearing just a bikini bottom for swimming, then she's old enough to wear a bra. (Consistancyof standards is in order, here, imo.)
So what determines when she can't get away with wearing just a bikini bottom? I assume If a girl of 7 starts developing breasts you feel she should wear a bikini top, whereas a girl of 13 or 14 with delayed puberty and no breast development needn't bother with one.

Okay, HERE'S an article published a few weeks ago in response to the Marks and Spencer bra issue and in defense of padded bras for young girls.

Came across this rather amusing concern while paging through The Sun.

" Mum slams Marks and Spencer for ‘encouraging boob jobs’ by selling padded bras for kids as young as NINE

AN outraged mum has slammed Marks & Spencer for selling padded bras for girls as young as NINE , claiming it is encouraging kids to want a boob job.

Laura Milatos, 40, spotted the white cushioned bras in her local store in Shrewsbury, Shropshire and shared a picture on social media.

[Evidently this is suppose to make the reader gag with disgust]

The mum-of-two claims the star-patterned padded bras could lead to young girls wanting bigger boobs and think about getting a boob job.

She has called on the high street chain to move them to a more appropriate section of the store.

But M&S defended the lingerie and said they were "extremely common" and selling them is "normal practice".

Laura said: "I was just browsing the children's clothes section before coming across the bras.

"I was shocked when I saw it and just thought 'Oh my God!' what is it doing there?

"If my ten-year-old daughter put it on it would definitely look as though she had breasts.

"I don't want to give my daughter the idea that bigger boobs are better.

"I want her to grow up knowing having a flatter chest is fine.

source
Gives one a pretty good idea what kind of chest mommy Laura has. ;)

Anyway . . . . being a male I have little idea if she has a reasonable point here or not; although, it does seem she has rather misguided suspicions about childhood development.

Added question. Is that how bras are sold, by age?

Thoughts?

Sometimes they are, to children.

Never seen any, i have a 13 year old girl, i have looked and purchased in both the uk and france for small bras.

Girls come in different shapes and sizes
Girls start to develop at different ages

A very rough and ready estimate can be given though... Here is an example from
brasizechart.info

Age 10: Training bra
Age 11: A
Age 12: A
Age 13: C – Says breasts grew quickly between ages 12 and 13, which is typical
Age 14: C
Age 15: C
Age 16: D
Age 17: DD
Age 18: DD

Age 10: First changes and training bra
Age 11: Training bra
Age 12: Fulll A
Age 13:Full B small C
Age 14:Full B small C
Age 15:Full B small C
Age 16:Full C
Age 17:Full C small D Depending on bra maker

Age 9: Training bra
Age 10: A
Age 11: A
Age 12: B
Age 13: B
Age 14: B
Age 15: C

Age 10: Training bra
Age 11: AA
Age 12: A cup bra
Age 13: A cup bra
Age 14: 34B sized bra

Age 10: Training bra or A cup
Age 11: A
Age 12: B
Age 13: C
Age 14: C
Age 15: D
Age 16: D

Age 10: Training

Age 12: A
Age 13: B
Age 14: B

Actually, quite a few news operations carried the article.

I didn't think so. It doesn't make sense. No more so than the woman's remark that

"Marks and Spencer for ‘encouraging boob jobs’
by selling padded bras for kids as young as NINE"

My thought being they sold the bras to whoever wants/needs one. Need being the determiner. Not age. Kind of looks like her stupidity goes hand-in-hand with her outrage.

Why must they be trained?
What are they being trained to do?

There are several reasons for selling padded bras to developing girls. Encouraging bob jobs doesn't come close to top of the list. The woman obviously does not even want to find out why.

Its not the micro boobs being trained but the wearer is being trained to wear bras. In the same way an engineer is trained to make all jobs look difficult.

Hah!
Now I know you're joking.
Engineering is all about making things simple.

Btw, I thought the melons were being trained.
Like topiary.

But... The Sun???
Another issue took me there and I decided to look a around a bit, and a good thing I did. So far fifty-five posts about padded bras for young girls. Can you think of a more fitting subject for current events?

Or even boob jobs for that matter. ;) (I think bob jobs should be left for the Eros Room.)
