Now I don't believe in snitching, thats how i was raised, but If you found out someone was on the run for jumping bail(an arson charge) and you could lure them out, would you do it?

Edit. By the way the reward is $4k.

RF rule 6 prohibits me talking about what happened when I was in college. But the principle is that it depends (and not on the bounty). For arson, yes. If the person had, to use an extreme example, stolen a loaf of bread to feed a starving child, hell no.

Probably not, unless the person presented a danger to the community.

I wouldn't want to get involved. That can get really messy. However, if there was still a chance they'd harm someone else, I'd take the risk.

Dog the bounty hunter would go for more. Plus all the revenue from cable shows.

When I was a child I was also taught that snitching was wrong.

    But then I grew up.

Yes, I would turn in anyone I thought to be guilty of a serious crime. The bounty would make no difference one way or the other.

Snitching is a vice invented by humans for the benefit of the group involved, in my opinion. I see nothing of that in any religious scripture. I believe that anyone who breaks the law should accept his punishment and not be protected by anyone. The reward s immaterial. The best thing to do is turn down the reward.

As individuals we should forgive the sins of others, but the community has the right to punish others. That's in the Baha'i Writings explicitly, and I believe that. If we did not punish those who broke the law, the community would become lawless. The reason for this punishment is to deter crime from other people, for fear of the same punishment.

The best solution to crime is to morally educate people, so they don't want to commit a crime. Also we should give consideration to the social conditions we subject people to.

If I trust, love, and respect a person enough, then their secrets are safe with me, so long as their crimes do not interfere with our relationship.

If it’s just some random then the bounty is mine.
