Tyre was the capital city of the Phoenicians, the fall of Tyre would have send shock waves throughout the Phoenician world, but one must not forget that Hebrew = Phoenician , the language of the Old Testament.
The major clue that the Fall of Jericho is the Fall of Tyre is Deuteronomy 34:3.
Deu 34:3
And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the
city of palm trees
In Gk, it is ' πόλιν φοινίκων' ( City of the Phoenicians ) .
Jdg 1:16
And the children of the
Kenite (Phoenicians) , Moses' father in law, went up out of the
city of palm trees ( City of the Phoenicians)
Kenite (קֵינִי ) derives from Qanan ( קָנַן ) or Qen (קֵן )
Job 29:18
Then I said, I shall die in my nest ( Qen )
In the Septuagint version of Job 39:18 it
reads ' εἶπα δέ ἡ ἡλικία μου γηράσει ὥσπερ στέλεχος
φοίνικος '
Phoenix is the Gk translation of 'קֵן
Kenite = Pheonicians
The Torah also stresses this in Numbers 24:21
Num 24:21
And he looked on the Kenites (Phoenicians) , and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwelling place, and thou puttest thy nest (קֵן ) in a rock
Cain ( קַיִן ) is a patronymic form of Phoenician, as well as Kenan (קֵינָן ) in Gen 5:6
