Blood clots

We Never Know

No Slack
Yes, there is a very real chance that this could be a real but very rare event. Since there are other vaccines they are playing it safe right now.

Our talk did motivate me into looking into getting vaccinated again. Sadly not yet:

"COVID-19 Vaccines in Washington
Eligibility
  • People age 16+
Access Washington's vaccine information

At this time, all appointments in Washington are booked. We’ll add more as they become available. Please check back later."
COVID Vaccine (COVID-19 Immunization Updates) | CVS Pharmacy

That is only one location, but I have a feeling that it will be the same elsewhere. I would even take the J&J vaccine without batting an eye if it was available. I think the hold on that vaccine may be why there are none available in my state right now.

AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson have caused blood clots. That 2 out of 4.

I still stand by what i said the other day..."anyone that wants to get vaccinated, get it. Anyone who doesn't, don't.
I won't look at either one differently.

Very rare blood clots and in females only. And there are alternatives that use a very different technology. There still is no excuse. Woman might want to wait a bit, but no excuse for men.

And sooner or later we are going to have to deal with people that refuse to get vaccinated. They are really no different from people that have been convicted of DUI.

There are other vaccines. Since there are as the CDC said, it is in "an abundance of caution" that they are doing this.

And this is the sort of hypocrisy that drives me nuts at times. People claim that they are not being careful enough and when they are too careful the same people complain about that. It shows that they are only looking for excuses to believe.

Shrugs. I mean, my friend decided not to get Johnson and Johnson yet she choose a vaccine that she felt comfortable with. I wouldn't assume people made the wrong decision like here to take that 6 out of 6 million into consideration. If it were me, given the circumstances, I'd pick an alternative real quick. Unless there were no other options available.

It doesn't mean don't take vaccines. I never said that. It just means that this is what I found out and if one likes they can take that into consideration and choose an alternative or take the 0.00009% risk and take it. I don't feel it would hurt either way, but I'm wondering if those taking vaccines look at the negatives?

It's actually hard to find negative data when other medicines that been out for years have a bunch of it. Instead, you have doctors trying to say "well, hey, it's 'only' X percent... don't worry... it's nothing." It's coercion to make people choose to get the vaccine and social media blocking sites that show information against it (as in the consequences and not downplaying the side affects). Instead, all I see is anti-vaxxers, how to convince people to get the vaccine, they're covid idiots and all that mess.

It makes me feel everyone is brain washed, to be blunt.

I don't take the flu or pneumonia shots.
Those viruses used to be deadlier than they are now. This virus was deadly because its new. I think the shots are going to be yearly like the pneumonia and flu shot.

And.....they once said they would get rid of the flu

It seems like every time I turn the TV on some law company is advertising "if you took this drug and had XX side effects, call us now".

I have never heard anyone state that they would eliminate the flu. At least not anyone that understands the science behind it. The flu goes through various animal species every year and by the time it gets back to us it has mutated enough so that old shots are not very effective. Flu vaccines partially rely on prediction of how the flu will change and some years they are wrong. That is why the effectiveness of the vaccines can vary from year to year. Pneumonia shots might be a good idea. Pneumonia is bacteria based and does not evolve at such a high rate.

Bacteria, viruses and fungi can all cause pneumonia.

and they out number you.......in your body

a science program gave info to this fact
most of what you see in the mirror is not ......you

The human body contains trillions of microorganisms — outnumbering human cells by 10 to 1. Because of their small size, however, microorganisms make up only about 1 to 3 percent of the body's mass (in a 200-pound adult, that’s 2 to 6 pounds of bacteria), but play a vital role in human health.

NIH Human Microbiome Project defines normal bacterial makeup of the body.

so you have noticed the difference?

herd immunity

herd mentality
The dangers of herd mentality during a health crisis

Here's an example.

"Social psychologists have studied and cited that situations often make people act a certain way. Consider, for a moment, the concept of group polarization. The idea is that like-minded people in a group reinforce one another's viewpoints."

The idea is that it could be dangerous during a health crisis. It also influences how people see others outside of the herd. If a person defended an outsider, they may be perceived as one.

I also heard a study people think rationally alone but irrationally together.

This was after not before. It didn't mean the vaccination killed them. It referred to catching civud after vaccination...

I take that back.

Some resources I found people died of covid after vaccination.

This one referred to blood clots in relation to vaccination.

Not my reading at all. However, I got my shots. My life is getting back to normal. If I hadn't already been vaccinated, I would not hesitate to get the J&J. I trust math. The chances of dying from COVID are far greater than the chances of dying from any vaccine.

You can do math any way you want to.

-Wuhan lab was funded by US and had US scientists working in it
-the Wuhan Institute had reportedly been testing coronaviruses in bats with some of that funding
-virus outbreak
-vaccines
-blood clots

Its all part of the same.

To top it off, I pay taxes. Therefore I (partially) funded the institute and the scientists and the bats and the outbreak.

Someone puleese slap me on the wrist.

You still haven't said why you posted that to begin with.

My take is you wanted to further a nonsensical conspiracy theory.

There is no evidence that the virus originated in the Wuhan Institute.

Theory That COVID Came From A Chinese Lab Takes On New Life In Wake Of WHO Report
"I think there were a lot of people who did put together the fact that you had an outbreak in Wuhan and you have these laboratories in Wuhan fairly immediately," said David Feith, who was an Asia adviser in the Trump administration's State Department when the coronavirus emerged.

On Tuesday, the World Health Organization released a joint report with Beijing on the origins of the pandemic following a four-week investigation in China. It concluded, among other things, that the lab leak hypothesis was "extremely unlikely."

Trump sought to place maximum blame for COVID-19 on China — and pushed the lab leak theory — in what some of his critics saw as an effort to deflect criticism of his own handling of the pandemic.

WHO wants to do some more investigating, which is certainly advisable. However, your "conclusions" are not grounded in any facts.

Ecco, this isn't personal.

I had surgery with a 80% success rate and 20% severe side affect to death rate-yet, I took the chance. I wouldn't expect anyone not too from the 0.00009% risk from the link you gave.

The vaccine Johnson and Johnson success rate to its side affects is 6 out of a million in relation to blood clots.

Thousands of people have taken the vaccine and others decide to take alternative ones because of this statistic.

Also, take into account that even doctors and government paused giving Johnson and Johnson for this very reason. So, they took that 6 out of million in consideration-and quite seriously too.

Unless you guys know better than the doctors, it wouldn't be a bad idea to take it into consideration too.

It truly isn't personal. I don't know you guys personally to say whether you all made a bad decision.

Don't shoot the messenger. I'm not your enemy.

Primary reason: Intuition/gut feeling.

Well, there ya go. That's a really great thing on which to base life or death decisions.

Have you looked at the math? Do you understand the math?

In it's most basic form:
Death rate for unvaccinated 1 in 531 (USA)
Death rate for vaccinated < 1 in 6,000,000 (Worldwide)

Maybe you should let your brain override your gut.

You don't have to tell a person to not take a medicine, vaccine, whatever if they have a huge feeling its not in their best interest (unless, of course, they are forced or afraid or feel like it's not big enough for them not to take the risk).

Here's what happens when people do things in their best interest and disregard science and math.

173 infected in new coronavirus outbreaks at 41 schools, says Michigan’s April 19 school outbreak report
A total of 173 students and staff at 41 K-12 school districts have been infected by coronavirus in new school-related outbreaks, according to data released Monday, April 19, by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

The data was collected on Thursday, April 15, and includes preschools and daycares in those buildings

Last week, the state reported 201 infections in new outbreaks at 48 K-12 school districts and three colleges.
Report: Michigan only state at ‘severe’ COVID risk level
Michigan continues its battle with COVID-19 spread, now categorized as at a “severe” risk level for a virus outbreak as the state leads the nation in new virus cases.

Since mid-February this year, coronavirus spread in Michigan has rapidly increased, causing COVID cases and hospitalizations to surge once again. Earlier this month, the state was leading the entire U.S. with its number of daily new virus cases, as well as virus infection and positive test rates. As of April 20, Michigan’s position unfortunately has not shifted much: The state is now categorized by Covid Act Now as being at a severe risk for a COVID-19 outbreak -- the only state currently categorized at such a high level.

On April 15, Covid Act Now increased Michigan’s risk level from “very high” to severe as virus spread compounded.

. I just posted information and said don't shoot the messenger. I think you shot, stabbed, and kicked me.

Sorry you feel that way. But I've been in seclusion and now I'm vaccinated and I always wear a mask, so you can be very certain that I didn't infect you. That must count for something.

I'm not afraid you will affect me vaccinated, mask wearing, or not. I don't jump in the street or anything like that around people just because "I think" they are unvaccinated or I "think I know" why they're not wearing their masks.

It really isn't personal, Ecco.
