Does holding a belief without question, or testing it in reality, basically skew the observers reality, or distort the truth?
I tend to agree. When we are young we apprehend reality in such a way that we take a lot as it comes and don't have enough information to form a belief though there may be tell-tale reactions even while a data set is being acquired. What I am meaning is even before beliefs begin to jell we would likely still tip our hands as to which direction we are favoring... Does that make sense? No. That's like questioning whether I have a mother. Beliefs are our reality so we can question our morals etc but not insomuch that our beliefs will change by doing so.

Well , all one has to do is look at kids and Santa Claus. Then the kids grow up.....Does holding a belief without question, or testing it in reality, basically skew the observers reality, or distort the truth?

so you believe you have a mother?
to know generally implies a 1st person experience and not a belief. to know is generally opposed to belief.
That's a weird question. I know. What are you saying?
To believe without question is if not an expression of insanity, certainly an invitation to it, as it is essentially an active definition of a lack of reason and rationality. WHY would one believe something without questioning why they are choosing to believe it? The thought process is logically incoherent.Does holding a belief without question, or testing it in reality, basically skew the observers reality, or distort the truth?
i asked a question. you believe you have a mother? or you know you had a mother? to know is to have a 1st person experience of something. to believe is not knowing, not experiencing.
