She makes money in a legal and ethical way while promoting the values she stands for. I see no issue here. Nobody is forcing those who don't share her values to buy her merchandise.

I like AOC's passion for her job and how relatable she is. Certainly a refreshing change from all of the multimillionaire and billionaire politicians who either speak from ivory towers or are only in the field to advance their own interests and nobody else's.

Isn't that to raise campaign funds? Or maybe some other worthy charitable cause? Most capitalists seem to want to keep most of the money for themselves - perhaps more than their fair share of it, which is why politicians like AOC become popular in the first place.

But the Democrats have always mostly been capitalists and pro-capitalist themselves. The Republicans keep trying to paint them as "socialists," but I'm just not buying it. The Democrats are capitalists, through and through.

I don't agree with the article's suggestion that AOC has reached the status of "cult of personality" - not yet anyway. I don't know how she ended up getting the spotlight right out of the gate like that, along with other members of "The Squad." Perhaps it's a matter of being in the right place at the right time. She became an instant celebrity, but to reach "cult of personality" status takes more time.

"Cult of Personality" is a term often associated with Stalin.
