And if you think its so wrong to "take a life" for Gods sake start feeding the starving children that are here. But HEY thats the "choice" of people to feed or not feed starving children now isnt it?Its none of your business its just "wrong" for "them" not too..NOT YOUR PROBLEM!!!!!
That was truly disgusting.

I believe ALL killings outside of defence of the self or another are wrong

I've met many Liberals including atheists who have issues with abortion.

My personal opinion is related to the sentience of the fetus.

While I think its common sense to try to avoid unwanted pregnancies, I think one has to understand
1)Fetuses don't seem to be sentient until something like 7 months
2) People perform abortions on compassionate medical grounds too such as a baby born with a critical painful disease
3) Most people have early abortions.

I think both sides of this debate should quit fighting and pool their resources to prevent more unwanted pregnancies. Nobody likes abortion, but we are having the wrong converation in this country. Let's be open with our kids and allow them much-needed abstinence-based education. (NOT abstinence-only)

Not sure you'd call me anti-abortion, but I do tend to look down on abortion just because you don't want a child. I think if such people don't want the child, they should at least give it up for adoption, and if not that then don't have sex.

That being said, I as a liberal ultimately believe it is a woman's choice, much as I dislike it. I'm not about to get out there and start rallying for anti-abortion laws or anything like that. I support abortion for all other reasons then not wanting the child, including if the mother feels she isn't mentally stable to give birth to the child. Yes having a child, especially a child of rape, can be mentally damaging.

I am not for or against it, but feel that a woman has the right to a choice. I don't like the idea of using abortion as another form of contraception, people shouldn't just think they can be careless with sex and just have an abortion if pregnancy happens, but I cannot believe that forcing a woman to have a baby is the right thing.

I am liberal, so do like people to have a choice.

I don't like the term "pro-life" used in reference to the abortion debate. To me it paints people of dissenting opinions as "anti-life", which we all know is not the case. After all, aren't we the ones sick of the wars and revenge killings? ;)

Instead I prefer to call myself an anti-abortion liberal. I believe ALL killings outside of defence of the self or another are wrong (in regard to humans, and to a lesser extent animals -- but that's for another topic).

However, like the flash terms used in reference to where people throw their support behind, I do not associate myself with conservative 'pro-life' organizations. I do not call for the execution of abortion doctors, I do not want to intimidate mothers whom have had abortions done, I do not want to revert back to the failed policy of abstinence only, and I do not want mothers faced with likely death to be forced through their pregnancy.

What I do want is more support for struggling women. I believe in investing money in the research of ectogenesis so that we could replace most unwanted pregnancy abortions with artificial womb transfers. I also believe in making post and pre maternal psychological help cheaper, if not free (Socialist! Socialist!) for all pregnant mothers and their SOs.

Of course, being anti-abortion, I also want to see the practice of abortion destroyed. That might not settle well with most of my liberal brothers and sisters, but I just feel that it's an unacceptable practice, unless when the mother's life is in danger.

I am a pro-life liberal because selfish mother use it to kill and butcher children with Down's Syndrome. It is enough to make you vomit copious amounts of reddish vomit. Quite a lot like the blood they like to bathe in .

I as well am pro-life....without exception.

As a Black person, I'm descended from people who know what it means not to be considered humans (rather than 3-5ths of ones)

As a liberal (and a Unitarian Universalist), I believe in the uniqueness and inherent worth and dignity of every single human being, protecting innocent lives, and speaking out as a voice for the voiceless.

As someone who is a living example of or can point to some of the hard cases in the abortion debate in his family tree (poor living conditions, physical disability, great grandmother was a child conceived in rape), I do deeply RESENT many of the sentiments of abortion supporters.

I am not pro-life,but like most decisions in our society we must incentivize the appproach thst will be best for society. In the case of unwanted pregnancies how can we help the teen mother ? Any suggestions ?

Yes, I am against abortion because it takes out my people, that is, fetuses with Down Syndrome. I think they should abort the "normal kids".
