I have noticed that when i play my panflute, our cats come and lay down to listen :) maybe the sound is calming to them ? Have you had similar experiences?

When I used to work with chickens they used to greet me with cawing sounds in musical tones when I entered their room to feed them or collect their eggs. They were very communicative to humans even when caged.

They say it has powers to soothe the savage beast.

Panflute...interesting choice.

Chickens really are such wonderful creatures, it is sad how they are
treated by most people. I am glad yours are friends.

Chickens and all animals are special to me because of the wonderment of Nature.

By my nature and by study of biology
I agree that all living things-and all nonliving-
are marvels beyond comprehension.

I find though that the human appeal,
and the value / quality varies.

I cannot properly say the cockroach and
filaria worm are fully equal to the chicken
and the orangutan.

Uhhh...the quote says "...savage breast..", not savage beast. Just thought I'd clear that up. I would never trying playing a Steve Vai solo in front of a charging lion.
