Is anger an unhealthy emotion in one's belief system?

Anger can be useful sometimes. There's times I can affect anger without allowing it to control me.

Sometimes it is important to get people to listen to you and affecting anger is an effecting way of doing that. Parents sometimes do this with their kids.

The problem with anger is when the emotion is controlling you instead of you controlling it. You let anger control your thoughts and actions it can end up being very destructive. However if you control it, people respond to signs of anger from you just the same. One can make use of the emotion without the normal destructive consequences.

I imagine this would be difficult for younger folks as the rational part of their brain is still developing.

It appears that the "rational part of the brain" has limitations at any age.

Be more explicit, and explain your reason. Do you think you can argue your way out of retribution (Joel 3:2-8).

you're quoting christian verses. that explains nothing in relationship to practical purposes. i asked a question. i didn't state a reason.

Is the "wrath of God" (Revelation 14:10) & (Jeremiah 30:11) & (Joel 3:2) & (Daniel 2:44-45) an "unhealthy emotion" or a fact of what is to come?

What if God was simply affecting simply anger to get folks to listen.

Anger can be virtuous if used in the right circumstances for the right reasons.

"...If he exercises his anger and wrath against the bloodthirsty tyrants who are like ferocious beasts, it is very praiseworthy; but if he does not use these qualities in a right way, they are blameworthy..." (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Some Answered Questions, p. 215)

It would depend on motive.

What is self?
There are no need to get angry because there will then come other situation that will lead to even more attachments. in buddhism one of the things we working on is to let go of attachments to anger, hate, likes, dislike, pain and so on.

I see personal control of anger as a beginning but totally necessary step. Yes, it happens, but rarely is there a productive result from it. 'Fake' anger, like that of a parent or teacher, may be another matter, but even that often doesn't work as well as other alternatives.

Joel 3:2 is from the OT, which most "Christians" refer to as the "old" and "becoming obsolete" (Hebrews 8:13). That would be part of the "Law and the prophets". I am saying that you need to state a reason. Joel 3:2 is with respect to the near future, whereas you will no doubt experience the "wrath/anger of God", and it gives a reason. What is lacking is your reasoning. What "belief system"? What anger? Whose anger?

Anger is a much used tool in many of the belief systems I have investigated. In Evangelical Christianity, I still hear the echoes of the shouty, condemning Pastor. Sadly I can remember Muslim Imam's doing the same thing. I've only been to one Jewish (whatever they call it) and do not remember their Rabbi being that way.

Unfortunatly there are pastor`s priests and other religious leaders who think "fear and anger" will make the followers obey or become better from it. But if you look at Buddhism where there is no shouting or anger in the teaching it is much less wrongdoing (som buddhists do wrong ofcourse)
But the anger in teaching is a human flaw not the teaching it self

I never went to church as a kid, never saw sermons on TV, but when I finally did, the first question that often popped into my head was ... 'Why is that man so angry?' Even facial expressions seem grumpy. Your religion mustn't be dong much for you if all it does is make you mad. It's sad.
