Pre-Islamic Arabia's religion was one of superstition. Belief in jinns (genies), curse casting, magic stones, totems was the norm - and it was against this background that Allah arose. Evidence of these very sorts of cultural influence is found in such places as Suras 55, 72, 113 and 114.

"Allah" is from the compound Arabic word "al-ilah" or in english "the god." This word has been found in pre-islamic writings and other archeological finds. At the Kabah in Mecca 360 gods were worshipped, but it was built especially for the chief deity - the moon god. Allah was the personal title of the moon god. Allah was married to the sun goddess. They produced three daughters, whose worship Muhammad would later make the mistake of condoning. The crescent moon symbol of Arabia came from this god.

Muhammad's family revered this particular god, and Muhammad declared him to be the only true god. Muhammad did not re-make the pagan god, he simply removed the lower deities from the rites of worship. That is why he never had to explain who Allah was. So Allah is a deified pagan idol converted into a god in the 7th century. Yet Muhammad claimed this was the God of Abraham that was revealed thousands of years earlier to the Biblical prophets.

The Biblical God
is love,is a spirit, has personality, loves, thinks, is omnipotent... etc.

Allah
is not definable, we are only told what Allah is not, only demands obedience

Now, because the Quran accepts the Bible as the word of God, it is quite proper that it should adhere to its teachings. The Bible clearly states that prophets must follow the same God as the One revealed by the earliest prophets and not lead people to other, false, gods (Deuteronomy 13:1-5)**. Therefore, we must take very seriously the fact that Muhammad did not teach the God of the Bible.

Can of worms spring to mind here, but you are certainly brave.

Good luck...

This is a great topic of debate and if what you have written is true then I would like to see a Muslim agree to this and post it for all to see.

I would like to know if Muslims could associate themselves with the christian God and if they are using the name Allah in place of the christian name of God.

This is something we all need to be educated on.

When a specific new belief appear so that dosn't mean that it's fake and for example i don't imagine the jewish calling christians by having false God... isn't it? just because they call him by a speicific name in that particular language.

Allah is the God of the whole universe and after you provide your source i'll reply to this wrong information about Allah.

That is your belief and news is, just because you feel that way, does not make it right.

I would feel the same way about all those islamonly sites you repeatedly post. They mean nothing to me.

Before I begin I will like to make something of note.

Let's look at Mohammed. Muhammed was just a man, and he is still dead in his grave. Jesus was begotten by God, and born of a virgin, by the power of the Holy Spirit. God did many miracles, and what did Mohammed do? Ride a camel and order people to be killed because the would not accept him as a prophet.r Muhammad married one of the faithful, called Sawda. A little later he married a six year old girl called Aisha, although the marriage was not consummated until she was nine.
This is record in Bukhari's Hadith eg
Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64:

The marriage of Muhammad to a six year old girl is also recorded in Abu Dawud's hadith and in Muslim' hadith. At least 600 Jewish men were beheaded in public on the edge of trenches and their bodies thrown in. The women and children were sold. Muhammad took one of the women - Rayhana, newly widowed, as a concubine. This is what your Mohammed sets as examples.

Killing hundreds of people and marrying six year old girls, what a great example of this "so
called" Prophet of your god. Killing hundreds because they didn't accept him as a prophet.
Your Qu'ran mentions this event in Sura 33:25-27

Nothing changes. We see the same thing happening in today with Al Queada. Decapitation
of those who challenge them.

More explained:While proselytizing Arabia, Muhammad captures the Banu Kurara tribe and forces the group of about 600 to chose between conversion and death. After spending all night praying, all but three or four Banu Kurarans are beheaded.

Islam is not the fastest growing religion on Earth. There are more Muslims by a percentage because of birth rates in Muslim countries.

Muslim forces capture Caesarea, forcing the city's estimated 100,000 Jews to follow the Pact of Omar, which meant they had to pray quietly, not build new synagogues and not prevent Jews from converting to Islam. The Jews were also forbidden from riding horses and holding judicial or civil posts, and were forced to wear a yellow patch for identification.

Have you read the Satanic verses? It's all about muhhamed the devil worshipper.
It was written by Salman Rushdie and is a must read for every good Muslim.

What kind of example does this Mohammed that you worship set? If he is a prophet of your
Allah, he is doing an awful job.

Laugh all you want, I laugh at Muslims all the time. Their proselytization.Go ahead, laugh some more at your Quaran then.

First off, I don't know where you got the idea that Allah is not definable, and can only be described as what he is not. There are 99 names (attributes) of allah mentioned in the Holy Quran. these include ar-rahman, ar-raheem, maliki-yaumideen (gracious, merciful, master of the day of judgement).

Secondly, i don't speak arabic, so i am just going to take your word that al-ilah means "the god" in arabic. Now, it must be understood that before the advent of Islam, allah routinely sent down his messengers, or prophets, to every people in the world. This includes the arab people. Their teachings were not perfect in the sense that they enveloped all of man's needs, but were perfect for the time and people that the message was sent to. Now, every prophet, regardless of who, was sent with the message to worship one god. Over time, it is a universal fact that the teaching gets abrogated. It is possible that the message of one god was transformed into the form of idol worship, with "the god" (Allah) still a remnant from the original message from God.

Now, the quran does state that the bible WAS revealed by same God of the holy prohet (saw) and Jesus, but you have failed to mention that the Quran also emphatically declares that the message of the bible has been abrogated so that the message that god sent to the world through the bible has now been almost totally changed. To guide people toward, in my opinion, the concept of Trinity would be tantamount to every christian preacher disobeying Deuteronomy 13:1-5**. Now, if the message of the bible was abrogated, then the holy prophet was in fact following exactly what the above quotation is saying by bringing people back to the original One God of the bible.

I don't know where you get off coming off so pissed. If it is not so against your nature, you could at least try to show some respect to someone who about a third of the world's population recognize as one of the most important people in history. Cool down a bit, relax... then we'll talk.

Pardon, I'll try to be more direct about making my point next time. Saying that Allah is not God is ridiculous, because Allah means God. You have said nothing but 'God is not God.'

Can you provide verses for each of these qualities? I'm especially interested in a source for this one:
Since if Muslims (you need to get your nouns right, by the way... Islam is the religion, Muslims are followers of Islam) said the Bible was the true word of God, then they'd also accept that Jesus was God or at least divine and supposed to be worshipped.

That's what I'm saying. Please provide verses from the Quran that state they accept the Bible as the word of God.
