The laws should reflect our highest ideals and not our basest fears and hates.
But if lawmakers write aboutl people's freedom while owning slaves...The laws should reflect our highest ideals and not our basest fears and hates.
So says those who persecute the strangers on our shores.
But Jesus says...
Matthew 23:23-24
Matthew 25:41-43
It's really this simple.
But if lawmakers write aboutl people's freedom while owning slaves...
Caesar's was a throw away thing....Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's.
Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's.
Caesar's was a throw away thing....
How does this apply? The U.S. is Caesar? The immigrants should give us our country back? So should all non-Native Americans leave and return to their country of origin?
"No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money."Yet Jesus told people to pay their taxes ergo follow the laws of the land.
If the USA is a nation founded on Christian your point holds true. However if it is not then your point fails.

One of my favorite quotes was from the film Billy Jack..
"When the law breaks the law, there is no law".
The self-reference problem of comprehensive logical systems...this is why empathy is an essential compliment to law. You must have another system for determining truth (a cooperative, empathetic feeling one) to compliment a purely logically defined system or you miss out on the humanity of the truth and justice you are trying to achieve.
I'll bet you those who were detained were all tax payers.
"No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money."
You are turning this into a legalistic thing. Whether you are a Christian or not, you don't need a law to tell you what your heart can tell you. The law doesn't specify what the heart knows...it describes a simplistic boundary line that if crossed requires human intervention.
A nation of laws...but no soul.
Yes and know. Depends which laws. Jesus just separated this world and other one, basically, and Paul said do whatever they want with you as long they leave you alone to do what you do.Ergo do not serve government then. Still has nothing to do with my point about acknowledging existing laws as per Jesus.
Other way round. The coin belonged to Caesar. The nation belonged to God.How does this apply? The U.S. is Caesar? The immigrants should give us our country back? So should all non-Native Americans leave and return to their country of origin?
