Maybe instead of a race progress, we should look at it as HP (hit points, for non-nerds) type of thingy?

The daily total fluctuates as time goes by, based upon
one's variable posting rate over the course of a day.
Call me nerdy, but I like to see the ripple effects of
each time period category on the longer ones.

I haven't paid much attention to it. I assumed it was based on a 24-hour period.
