Hello, I've been a member of this forum for a very long time. It is only now after a 4 year break that I have returned, and with it my religion has changed from Norse Paganism to Sunni Islam. As they say, AMA.
I was wondering if there is any good literature regarding Celtic paganism, I need more info before I can really consider myself a practicing Pagan, but good info seems to be scarce on the sites I've come across. Many thanks!
After a lot of time, I've finally come to rest or at least trying to do so, and I've become a Celtic pagan, but haven't chosen any specific set of Celtic deities nor have I learned enough to consider myself practicing. I find it sort of difficult to find satisfactory material on Celtic forms of...
A lot of people think they need to find their place right away, I've been off he forum for quite awhile. Actually I nearly forgot about it existing. I have been a European Pagan, for awhile now, but let me tell you all, that doesn't mean I've settled down. I still find myself looking into...
As you know I am a European pagan, and if anyone isn't certain, the cross is really a pagan symbol (I mean Christianity is really...)
I am a proud pagan but I also wear a cross with Jesus on it. Why? Because it was a gift from my great Grandma and truthfully I like what Christ said.
What's...
I know that a lot of Knight Orders fought in the Crusades and they were Catholic, but does anyone know if any Eastern Orthodox Knightly Orders existed? Thanks for the input.
So say you're in the woods, no compass, no Internet, no idea ahah, how would one find which direction Mecca is so they can pray? Remember, this is saying we have no tools and no idea from the start.
This isn't a how are they different post, but a debate on which one makes more sense, has a stronger foundation, better teachings etc, I'm learning about these two faiths but so far I'm not sure which one makes more sense. Sadly I am the type of person that if I don't find out then I will be...
I've studied Asatru as we know and I've looked into Rodnovery (If I read Russian ((I'm Learning lol)) it would be easier), and now I'm interested in Romuva, I don't know why, but maybe it's because Asatru just doesn't quite do it for me yet?
I heat this being thrown around and truthfully I like the sound if it. The end of the Abrahamic religions in my opinion would be great. I like Islam and Judaism a lot more though than Christianity. Yet for me the extinction of all 3 would be a blessing in my opinion. My reasoning is because...
I've been wanting a mjolnir or Axe of Perun pendant for awhile and I ended up getting the Axe of Perun.. I do ask myself why I didn't get a mjolnir instead but I guess it's because I was drawn the axe more. I also believe that Perun is really just the Slavic version of Thor, so I'm not...
I have prayed with all my heart for God to show me that he exists, especially recently (Aunt passed away, she was Catholic) I've heard people say that they prayed and he showed them of his existence, so why not me? I take this as proof that Christianity is false. Care to explain/prove me wrong?
I get that Asatru is more Norse, Theodism is more Anglo-Saxon, and that Suomenusko is Finnish, but does anyone know enough about Suomenusko in order to explain the differences and such?
I love it so much. I think its wonderful to be able to be free and do as I please. Yet. With the freedom this religion has and the lack of there being a local Kindred, I feel really empty with it... I would go to one of the churches around here to fill that gap, but I truthfully don't agree...
Among other Eastern religions, but the Unity Church goes as far as saying (not literally but technically) Jesus was just like Buddha and that we all have an inner Christ.. I like Unity because it gives people more into Western style religions a doorway into the Eastern religions. Yet this is...
Sikhism to me is a religion, but Buddhism a philosophy, Sikhism is a way of worship, Buddhism is a way to enlightenment. Enlightenment can be reached in my opinion, via religion alone, but a philosophy like the one of the Buddha definitely helps. What is everyone else's view of this? Guru...
