I've always called it soda.

What do you call it?

My husband is from a place they use 'soda'. He seemed unaware(and somewhat unwilling to believe) that it was called anything anywhere else. He about fell over in surprise at a grocery store upon arriving in Iowa: "That sign says pop! It really says pop on the aisle sign! Hahahaha!"

"Pop' is more than just correct.
It has one less letter than both "soda" & "Coke".
And one less syllable than "soda".
So it's more efficient.....& more civilized.

I call it soda, and its bad for you unless you are already buying fast food in which case it may help to purge the harmful bacteria that you sometimes get with fast food.

I'm in Michigan, so Pop. And that's all it'll ever be to me lol
I have family in Upstate New York, and they have always called it soda.
I do know that it's called soda and all that in other places, obviously. Not everybody does.
For example, one time while at a fast food place up there, I accidentally said I wanted a "pop."
They had no idea what I was talking about lol
It's crazy all the things that are regionally different.
