WAPO- Those Vulgar Anti- Joe Biden people

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Washington post has exposed the vulgar and divisive rhetoric of those who do not stand behind the current U.S. president. Never before has anyone, anywhere, at any time shown so much disrespect to a sitting U.S. president, thank goodness Washington Post was there to keep us all informed.

Criticism of Biden turns vulgar - The Washington Post

From article:

"During the 2020 presidential campaign, one of Biden’s political superpowers was his sheer inoffensiveness, the way he often managed to embody — even to those who didn’t like him — the innocuous grandfather, the bumbling uncle, the leader who could make America calm, steady, even boring again after four years of Donald Trump."

"Yet the anger also demonstrates how a political party or cause often needs an enemy, a target of vilification that can unite its adherents "

" The current eruption of anti-Biden signs and chants, however, is on another level, far more vulgar and widespread."

"Then there are the chants. In early October, a “F--- Joe Biden!” cry broke out among the crowd at Alabama’s Talladega Superspeedway. Kelli Stavast, an NBC Sports reporter, was interviewing NASCAR driver Brandon Brown live on air at the time, and she quipped, “You can hear the chants from the crowd, ‘Let’s go Brandon!’ ”
Trump supporters instantly saw signs of a coverup, claiming on social media that journalists were deliberately censoring anti-Biden sentiment. The brief video exchange quickly turned viral.

The result has been a proliferation of chants in recent weeks, both of “Let’s go Brandon!” — now used as a stand-in by the Trump faithful — and the more vulgar original, sometimes shorthanded as “FJB.”"

“One of the many legacies of the Trump presidency is he normalized angry speech,” said Mike Murphy, a Republican strategist and Trump critic. “Trump and our culture in general has beaten decorum out of politics, so now it’s just angry rage therapy — so you get out your Magic Marker and you do your coarse lawn sign.”
"That tribalism is reflected in surveys."

This all sounds very familiar
It's just cancel culture not wanting people to critique a do nothing bumbling POTUS.

Much like when CNN's political director said the reflections of the covid memorial was like " Biden embracing America" straight up North Korean dear leader garbage.
Well that is CNN. I wish you would have just been precise and noted who you were referring to from the start instead of the vague comment.

Personally I don’t understand the sentiment. I can think of few things I would less want to do than to have carnal relations with Joe Biden.

Well, I'm just shocked that so many supposed Christian patriotic Americans would use such vulgar language in public. What a disgrace.
I totally agree.

What I find totally disgusting is at his rallies Trump insults and tears down even a person in a wheel chair and also mocked another who has Parkinsons, and yet the crowds laughs and cheers him on. Why would a person who claims to be a "Christian" do that, especially since his rallies constantly exude hate, hate, and even more hate?

"Hate" is not Jesus' message-- love [agape] is.

Christians aren't above human foibles, including hate.
Even thou hath fallen from grace on a few occasions.
So I recommend making it less about religion.

CNN sucks. It's not deliberately corrupt and divisive as FOX, but it is theatrical.
This seems to be a stylistic trapping common a lot of American nonfiction television; even some news and documentary on Youtube seem to employ that kind of overdramatic style.

Sounds reasonable to me. Being able to criticize a standing president is one of the strengths of your democratic system. But the current level of tribalism is its key weakness, imho.

That article wasn't defending Biden, or cancelling those criticizing him though...so I'm confused what you mean.

It's the 'plant' getting people to think about it.

....Trump supporters instantly saw signs of a coverup, claiming on social media that journalists were deliberately censoring anti-Biden sentiment. ..

And yep. I thought about it.
