I'm guessing Biden's vaccine mandate does not want to apply to Congress in order to avoid upsetting any non-vaccinated Congressional Republicans into changing their minds regarding their support of the bipartisan infrastructure bill.
That's the whole point of the thread.I loathe government types exempting themselves

I avoided the partisan aspects of it though. That's the whole point of the thread.
I don't see how partisan angles could be avoided.I avoided the partisan aspects of it though.

I still however don't think it's legal to force people or get fired, not able to collect benefits, lose Cobra protection.
If the theme is 'progressive' it has a funny way of going about it.
Like so many of your threads, this one is about your favourite trope -- hate anything left of you.NOTICE: This thread is not intended as a covid vaccine debate. Its about making mandates they themselves don't have to follow.
Congress exempt from Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
If any mandate is issued, they follow it as well.
End of story.
Questions......
What makes them so dam self important that they somehow always make sure that they don't have to follow any mandates they put on others? Power trip?
I don't see vaccine mandates as overreach at all. If -- and let's be clear, that's an "if" -- this is a pandemic that raises a huge threat, then the government must deal with it. One might compare it, just for example, to the draft in wartime. "We're at war, everyone who is able is required to do their part."Perhaps we can agree Biden's vaccine mandate is government overreach. As much as I'd like most everybody to be mRNA vaccinated, I'm totally against forced vaccinations. I might not have needed to get vaccinated, because my natural immunity worked very well in response to being infected with SARS-CoV2. Unfortunately, I most likely spread C.O.V.I.D.-10 to my then wife who became very ill from me infecting her with SARS-Cov2. I was still able to shed the virus without any symptoms of illness. I personally chose to be mRNA vaccinated in order to reduce my chances of becoming re-infected and spreading C.O.V.I.D.-19 to others around me who aren't very well naturally immune against the SARS-CoV2.

I think, I have to say, that there are situations in which each of us really should be required to submit.

Okay, mandated vaccines are one thing. Then we come to the question of what you are permitted to do if you refuse to be vaccinated. (Let's liken this to seat belts: I can sit in my car all day and no law can force me do fasten my seat belt. I am, however, not permitted to drive the car if I do not, and the law can exact a penalty for same.)Fortunately for us in my community, the C.O.V.I.D.-19 pandemic has ended where 85 percent of our adult population is well immune against C.O.V.I.D. by already being vaccinated or infected with the SARS-CoV2. Hence, a federal vaccine mandate here would be government overreach. Also, a person who considers the use of vaccines as being unethical due to cell strains originating from abortions used in vaccine research and development can't be forced against his or her moral objections to being vaccinated.
Government employees and contractors are engaged at the pleasure of the government, department and so forth. But elected representatives in the House and Senate were "hired" by the voters in their districts. Does even the President have the power to "fire" them for something like this?NOTICE: This thread is not intended as a covid vaccine debate. I think that's something the courts are going to have to determine.Government employees and contractors are engaged at the pleasure of the government, department and so forth. I’m wondering why the mandates since monoclonal antibodies are available and another option now.Lead by example. Nothing wrong with that.
