I can say unequivocally that both accounts are highly biased and display a highly personal perspective, and not an objective assessment.

After all the arguments, for most religious people (not just LDS), the final reason is "I had a spiritual witness that my faith is true".
Just curious, what do you make of other religious groups who also "feel the spirit"

Test them. Thats what a lot of people don't do . They get the warm and fuzziness and think that must be God . The bible warns against this .
1 John 4:1

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

Testing is very good. I’d recommend it for everyone. That being said, I know folks whom have tested and reached different conclusions from each other, including myself. But still, listening to God and testing according to the Spirit is the#1 approach I would recommend.
