Despite answering Always to "Charity work is something you try to avoid". Never should have been as appropriate, as I haven't ever been confronted with or tried to find "Charity work".
Anyway, at the risk of being regarded as "proud", the conclusion as of above is very true. I'm an expert in my profession, and my partners have been very well educated, but I would be as happy growing vegetables and living with an out of work person whom I love. The beauty of it all is that all my immediate family would accept such a decision. I suppose mother made us that way. (Father was a sea captain and seldom at home.)
Sometimes people think that I have some intellectual qualities above the average. I tell them that the genes I inherited from my parents are the reason, and I just try to use what they gave me.
I like to help people. If they thank me too much, I tell them that I'm just selfish in that I feel good from it.
