How would you describe what happened to Noah's people?

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I have heard that drowning is the most pleasant way to die. Also, according to the scriptures, all flesh on dry land was corrupted and was therefore killed, not only humans.
Of course the plan didn't work out so well so God kicked himself for his poor lack of foresight.

Pleasant compared to what?
And I guess it's lucky they found the only uncorrupted giraffes to put on the ark. And lucky the lions didn't get hungry. And lucky the giraffe calves were okay having baby giraffes with their relatives.

And, and, and...

I'm not sure God could have come up with a more convoluted depopulation plan if He tried.

Meh, I dunno. That's why I'm an atheist. :)
Hey, if you dunno but you're not putting a lid on the idea that something qualified to be called, creator, or , God, could exist, why not go with Agnostic instead?
Atheist is a label that implies you do know. ;) As in, you do know there is no evidence that supports anything like what people revere as "God".

Truly, I'd describe myself as an agnostic atheist. I don't 'know', but I find no reason to believe, nor to think others 'know'.

Label that however you see fit, but it's not a position of true agnosticism.

You can also refer to the particular version you are speaking of.

What I am asking is your view of the flood, not the details. What was it? Why did it happen? Did they deserve it?

It was an ancient Hebrew retelling of a older myth that took place in the Sumerian tale of Epic of Gilgamesh. It never happen in our reality. No, the whole book of Genesis is rubbish in modern moral standards and should only be looked at when studying ancient Jewish belief and studying Christian beliefs.
