Well I am an ex United Pentecostal person. So are there any oneness Pentecostals or Apostolics feel like debating their beliefs ? If not any Pentecostals feel like debating about the Holy Ghost or dress code standards?

OK I am not a Pentecostal. Didn't even know what that was till I Wikipedia'd it. That's hardly an education. I am interested in the Holy Ghost concept, however. Might you tell me your view?

I do believe in the Holy Ghost butt I am not Pentecostal anymore so my view would probably not inetrest you.

However I can say this. If your going to go to a spirit filled church it would be best IMO to find one that does not apply old timey dress code standards. Even though there's a small amount of churches who do you never know.

Its good to find one that believes all of the gifts of spirit count as the gift of the Holy Ghost not just speaking int tongues, those who teach you need to speak in tongues to get the gift of the Holy Ghost have twisted that message. So most UPC churches teach that.

An Assembly of God or full Gospel or Church of God church that teaches all the gifts are good as the gift of the holy Ghost ie.....gift of dreams, prophecy, interpreting tongues, healing etc all count, that should be a healthier church then UPC, they still speak in tongues there.

So... it seems you feel these are gifts of the Holy Ghost. OK, but what do you think the Holy Ghost is? I've been pondering that for a while.

aha! I assumed you were coming from this with a Christian point of view. If not I would suggest an internet research. The Holy Ghost means something different to all of us. To me its just the spirit of God.

Do you ever consider it weird to think that folks thought themselves to have the divine authority to determine the doctrine of God? How you are suppose to dress, what gifts you must have? Oneness Pentecostal vs Trinity.

I left a few churches when the leadership placed, seemed to me, arbitrary requirements on it's members.

Revelation 22:17 “Come! Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” Seems like an open invitation to me. Had some pastors ask members to go to a different church because of how they dressed or questions they asked. One pastor didn't like dealing with old people, they didn't have enough energy to carry out the Lord's work. Didn't seem very Christian to me so I ended up looking for a different church.

If 'oneness' means there is one person who wears a father hat sometimes, a son hat sometimes and a spirit hat sometimes, I think that isn't a good representation of the Trinity.

And so I'm not going to defend that.

There is always a risk of external standards and mechanical acts being overemphasized where God looks at the heart. Worship in spirit and truth is far more than that.

And so I'm not going to defend that.

Yes and oneness means one God but he expresses himself manifests through different stuff. So they say the burning bush was also a manifestation of God. Some eould say its like God has multiple personalities, I also think its absurd. I don't agree with the Trinity either.

I agree with that. They use to make me report to them all the time too and where I was working. To me its like being a member of the mafia, they were all into my business all the time.

I think terms like "Trinity" and "Oneness" are simply mans attempt to describe something far above our ability to understand. I have no problem with the discussion of such things. My problem comes when a group of people begin teaching a doctrine that says that if you don't come to the same conclusion as them, then God will throw you into hell.

Yes UPC if you dont teach what we teach you go to hell. They taught that the Trinity was Pagan so if your in a Trinity church believe in the Trinity your Pagan.

I've always thought it silly. There is a big difference in believing that it happened in the bible to saying that if you don't experience it your damned.

I do agree with the Trininty
but I think its not one person that shows himself as three but three persons with one divine essence
