Is any seat with national importance still open?
I just found the answer to my question. I assume a republican Senate win but there will be a runoff.
I have been trying to determine that but am not sure. Its also unclear whether my vote has been counted, yet. I voted in a special election for one of the newer candidates, and I have not seen evidence of my vote being counted. I think my district hasn't reported in, yet.

No, one cannot gerrymander Senate seats since they are statewide. One thing to keep in mind is that only roughly one third of the Senate runs in each two year election. This time twentythree Democrats sought reelection and only eight Republicans sought reelection. That made it very hard for Democrats to pick up the necessary seats to take over the Senate.
I think that's a good question. To me, "apparent" means that the person is so far ahead that she looks like a winner whereas "projected" means that a computer has computed a winner based on the data fed in.
Gridlock? Begin??
Hopefully Flint can use that money to sort out its water problems (which are still a thing).
