That Weird California Couple Who Tortured Their Kids

• David Allen Turpin, 57, and Louise Anna Turpin, 49, were arrested after cops found their 13 kids chained up in “dark and foul-smelling surrounds”
• The siblings, who cops said were “very dirty”, were so malnourished that officers thought seven adults were CHILDREN
• The starving kids begged police for food when they were found shackled to their beds
• The parents were each charged with nine counts of torture and ten counts of child endangerment
• The alarm was raised when one of their children escaped and called the police
• The 17-year-old girl who alerted cops was so malnourished she was initially thought to be no older than ten
• Neighbours said the “pale” family only came out at night – with one saying they were unaware any kids lived there
• One neighbour said the Turpins reminded her of the family of vampires from the Twilight book and film series
• Another neighbour said “smirking” mum Louise Turpin “spat on the floor twice” in front of cops when they arrived to raid the house
• The parents are due in court on Thursday, with their bail set at £6.5million each

Article said the mom "appeared perplexed" as to why the cops were at her door. Even trying to keep up the act when the jig was up - and then spit on the ground at the cops when it came time to subdue her and haul her off. If that's not a true measure of a complete a$$hole, I don't know what is. They knew it was all wrong the entire time - hence the reason they wouldn't let extended family visit, and they knew that they'd be slapped silly with litigation as soon as anyone found out.

They ought to strap the parents down in a chair and let each child walk into the room and ask them why - force the parents to give answers by tacking on additional life sentences if they try and keep their stupid mouths shut. They should find all the kids stellar homes, and then someone needs to make a video montage of all the good stuff that is happening in their lives, with some really cheesy, terrible scoring and play it on repeat all day every day in the parents' permanent solitary-confinement cells.

I have been following this story which is pretty horrific and can barely read any of it without throwing up. Interesting you mention religion, mom was a preachers daughter and dad also reportedly came from a “good Christian family”. The Grandparents(dads parents) were shocked and in complete denial, the moms parents had been completely cut off and died never seeing their grandchildren, very sad.

Execution and prison are too nice for individuals doing such heinous crimes, this couple could be shackled and malnourished for 25 years or so. Sorry I don’t usually like eye for an eye but I’m weak sometimes.
