As far as who's "worse", I suppose it depends on who's posting on what thread. . . In RL, it probably depends on where you live.

You, for instance, live in a college town in Michigan. I live in the outskirts of Houston, Texas. I guarantee we see and hear the political world in a very different way.

But I do have something that you might find interesting. My main contention in this thread is to suggest that many Fox News viewers have become more interested in disliking liberals than having their own principled stances.

There's a liberal show that took a little time to cite some Pew research polls regarding policy positions for Democrats and Republicans. It's a very good clip and worth your six minutes.

Edit: Not relevant to the main idea, but Republicans are called "stupid" at the beginning and at the end, so there is a potential trigger warning there for the more sensitive viewer.


I believe that the main reason for this is conservative media outlets. I also used to listen to Rush, and every time I turned him in, it was the same story. . . Never a defense of conservative principals, always an attack of liberal stances and ideals.

I believe that why the actual stances don't matter to many on the right, and why many on these theads have a challenging time criticizing Trump. "At least he's not Hillary" is the worst, morally vacuous reason to vote for a candidate for president of the United States. But that's a reason for his election, that's a reason for his continued support by a third of this country, and it's the reason he'll keep that support regardless of what he actually does in office (or fails to do, in his case).

Many liberals on this site were always flinging caveats about Clinton and Obama during the election, me included. I knew the flaws and was willing to admit it. I even said many times in 2016 right in these threads that I'd vote for a moderate republican because of Hillary's ties to Wall Street and her hawkish foreign policy.

Clinton lost because she wasn't moral enough for her base. Trump won because morals didn't matter. That's a fact.

But outside of yourself, I see none of that from anyone else on the right. But then again, you aren't a republican, and you also don't watch or listen to right wing media. . . So in some sense, you're inoculated and can retain your principled stances. I have always appreciated that.

Let's do one more video. This one is painful, but it's a conversation between a Trump supporter and Ted Cruz during the Indiana primary. You can draw whatever conclusions you want, but you and this guy voted for the same candidate. That's where I'll leave it.

No, I have not.
So I don't deserve to be punished by watching him.

Democrats are a deluded bunch.
They think they're betterer, more smarter, more moral, more civil, more
sciencey, more numerous, & more the inevitable progressive future.
They're not. Republicans have similar delusions.
You guys are all humans, sharing all the same shortcomings.
But you differ slightly in culture & beliefs, & this varies with time & location.

Morality matters to Hillary voters....that's a good one!
