The ONLY religious question!

Apostles of Christ were sent forth by Him as individuals appointed by HIm to preach the gospel of the kingdom. Do you deny this to be fact according to the Holy Scriptures?

John 17:18

Let's see how honest you can be with others.

Let's see how well you can answer these fundamental questions about Christianity and their teachings.

Where does "God" specifically states whom is inspired and whom is not?

Where does "God" specifically states which texts are more holier than others?

Where does "God" specifically states which texts are scripture and which are not?

*************************

Please supply your links and/or sources fro your answers

If you do not know the answers to these questions, please just state, "I don't know."

It will show you are trying to be honest and looking for the truth.

Thanks!

I've asked Daisies4me a few times to quote from the Epistles what the Apostles preached, and she/he cannot/will not do it.

I think there is good reason for this (although there are some exceptions).
  1. The Epistles don't necessarily deal with what is preached (although there are doctrinal positions). Many of them were dealing more with administration issues, moral issues et al.
  2. Acts has more to do with what was preached since it deals more historically about this matter
  3. It is assumed that the Apostles followed what Jesus said to preach in as much as it was Jesus who told them.
Was there a specific area that you wanted to zero in on?

Many of the Epistles are considered later creations and not written by "Paul".

But more importantly, why do you think "Paul" was more enlightened than the original 13 Apostles, in which Christianity only uses less than six of them?

Do you honestly think "Paul" was more enlightened than Thomas? Philip? ....just because Christianity chose not to include these first generation Apostles' writings as usable?

You realize that you are limiting "God's inspiration", right?

Of course you do, otherwise you wouldn't be a so-called "Christian".

Fraud.

Of course you don't......and you couldn't even re-read what you wrote.

Instead - you decided to not embark on understanding, but reject the truth.

Deflection and avoidance is very common with so-called "Christians" - and you show to be no different - especially when they are faced with the truth about their belief.

You are a very typical follower of men.

Forum patrons - Be AWARE!

I'm not a Christian. Sorry about that.

Then my apologies for thinking you were based upon your responses.

You sounded like someone not accepting of the many questions I have posted.

I'll be sure to correct myself going forward. Thank you for correcting me.

Why do you limit what Jesus taught to what men gave you?
I don't. If He is true to His word, then He as a pastor as His followers as His sheep, then the sheep will hear his voice. Thus, He is still speaking. However, He will not violate what He or the prophets have already said.

I never said that Paul was more enlightened. Can you please tell me where I said that?

My only reference to Paul was within the context of the question that was posted. I think the Apostles were just as enlightened. In Acts, it is mentioned that the shadow of Peter healed the sick. That's pretty awesome, if you ask me.

Yes you do. You don't accept these as teachings by Jesus.

Gospel of Thomas - Patterson & Robinson Translation -- Nag Hammadi Library

Why not?

All of these are true - as the first line of the gospel states that they were written down when Jesus spoke of them.

Sounds like you are following what men told you instead of Jesus.

What is your reason for doing this?

By quoting "Paul" instead of a teaching by Jesus that states the same thing.

Clearly you can't do that, because it goes against your belief.

Tell you what....you provide the same teaching by Jesus as you has with "Paul's Epistles".....and we can discuss it in more details.

You do have teachings by Jesus that say the exact same thing as "Paul" tried to do so with, right?

I doubt it.

Wow!! That's quite a forceful illogical statement.

One could say it is you that is following what men told you instead of Jesus.

When was the Gospel of Thomas written?

You are making great unsupported statements...

Again... I asked a simple question... where did I say that I thought Paul was more enlightened?

Judging by your unsupported attack questions, I can only assume you are trolling.

Face the fact...you referenced "Paul"....nothing by Jesus.

I'm not trolling, but helping others see the deceit within Christianity.

You won't help, then you are part of the problem.

I'll take your response to be as one that you refuse to help dispense and refine to show others the truth about "Paul"

No problem.....I have no problem letting the world know the truth, that you can't muster up and be honest about.

Face the facts....I have....

We'll show the world together how truthful you can be, okay?

I look forward to you teaching me something......but unfortunately, you are too taken up by "Paul" to even understand what I say.

Move past the words and understand their meanings......something you clearly refuse to do.....because you think men gave you that already.

*sighs*

No need to respond anymore "KenS" - as I know from this post, you aren't willing to teach the truth, but only project it.

As you were.

Because God made it so you have to seek the truth. Even without a god that would be how it works. The truth doesn't come to you, you don't accidentally find it. You have to seek the truth. It can be found it your honest with yourself, open to all ideas and patient.
Ah ... a god as a cosmic trickster playing "gotcha" with a price of eternal damnation vs. endless contentment. That dog don't hunt.

When was the Gospel of Thomas written?

There was nothing "illogical" in that question.

But, I also noticed you had to ask about the Gospel of Thomas, huh?

And since you never researched your belief, I'll give you this little nugget to roll around your tongue for a while, before you spit it out and say that it isn't true, because you will have nothing to support your unfounded response.

I answered someone else's question about the Epistles and I referenced the other Epistles. Context is everything.

I that you are declaring deceit within Christianity (I guess you must be the enlightened one) and have no need to support your statements -- you must be the one declaring yourself to be the Christ.

Jesus told us to watch out about people like you.

The manuscripts discovered at Nag Hammed dates to around A.D. 340 though the original composition of the Gospel of Thomas was definitely before that time probably sometime around A.D. 140 to 180.

Thomas was dead by then.

Only men have labeled this collection as Gnosticism.

Nowhere in the texts does it even include "Gnosticism".

"The manuscripts discovered at Nag Hammed dates to around A.D. 340"
- Source? Link? Confirmation from multiple scholars? Or is this just what you have been told.
- I showed you the link that is was much earlier. You reject it. Fine. You forgot to support your rejection.....or are you one to think that others are just to believe what you and your team state?
- You will have to do better than what you have.

'though the original composition of the Gospel of Thomas was definitely before that time probably sometime around A.D. 140 to 180."
- No - from 50 CE to 140 CE.....you are pushing it out further, without any evidence to confirm or prove what you say is factual.

"Thomas was dead by then."
- There are no NT religious text that exists in human hands dating to before the 4th C. You are lying - even about the texts within the Bible......all for what.....to further your goal of denying what Jesus taught?

What does it matter where teachings by Jesus lay? Clearly you reject some of his teachigns because men told you to.

You failed.

"Paul's context" is of his own....and not Jesus'. For some reason or another, you think his words are just as powerful, especially for "Paul" being a 3rd generation disciple.
Sorry buddy... 2nd generation and 1st if you take into account that he received it by revelation from Jesus.

Since what Paul declared is in the Old Testament... he has a pretty good foundation to speak. Certainly knows more that you or I.

I guess you don't agree with the many scholars who have already stated that 2 Tim and others (The Pastorals) were not written by "Paul"....yet you push them as if they are. Sounds like you are lacking many details within your belief.
ROFL - I don't follow men and their opinions like you do.

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,
2 To Timothy

LOL YUP! Guilty as charged. I believe Paul wrote it.

No "KenS", I'm not "Christ".....but I am a god.....because "Paul" said so.....as well as in Psalm.
:D You really sound funny. First you say that you need to expose Paul and then you quote him

You are quickly reaching the limit of me answering stupid and unsupported statement.

I will answer and you will determine whether I continue to answer a self proclaimed "New Age Spiritual Leader" (which in facts shows that you are offering a different gospel)

Where does "God" specifically states whom is inspired and whom is not?

Where does "God" specifically states which texts are more holier than others?

Where does "God" specifically states which texts are scripture and which are not?

Matt 5:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Matt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till* heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till* all be fulfilled.

Luke 24:44 And he said unto them,These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

You will have to rephrase "texts more holier than others"

Ah yes.....refusal to answer fundamental questions. In other words, with you picking and choosing words of men to describe something declared by "God".....well.....that shows your intelligence level to not be very high.

You've not answered my questioned. You think "Matthew" and "Luke" are "God".
- No they are not.

"First you say that you need to expose Paul and then you quote him"
- I quote him to show how you are wrong. But clearly, since you have a limited knowledge base of Christianity, I can see how you managed to come up with something other than the facts.
- Shoot - you couldn't even follow simple instructions and provide an honest answer. Instead you had to rely on men, instead of "God".

I understand, you really aren't any "Christian", just playing one online for others.

Fraud.
