Hypocrisy Of Those On The Left And Right

There are lose on the left that would happily try to eliminate or change the wording
of the 2nd Amendment.
Then perhaps the 4th, the 1st, .......................................................

A slippery slope indeed.
Think gun laws are too permissive in this country?
Try and buy one.
Retired cops and military can buy guns.
With FIVE day delay at least.
Ever see the questions on a form 4473 required for every gun purchase?
Lying on that form gets one 10 years and $10,000.00 fine.
France has very restrictive gun laws yet the terrorists found it easy to kill many
w/o a gun.
Miami anyone?
W.T.C. using hijacked aircraft?
It's a whole lot easier to assemble a bomb than to buy a gun.

That's nonsense. It is not a 5 day wait to buy a shotgun or most rifles. I can walk into any gun store and bring one home with me and I live in NYS, one of the most restrictive states in the country.

He's likely talking about handguns.
But for those of us with a CCW license, there's no waiting period.

That may be what he meant, but it isn't what he said.

The NRA plays games with these kinds of 'facts', trying to play it up, like a bunch of lowly hunters can't make it to opening day because they have to wait.

What pressing business do pistol purchasers have that they can't wait 5 days? I just don't buy the nonsense argument that the wait is too large a burden when pistols are the most used weapon in crime by a wide margin.

My pistol permit allows me to get a pistol without waiting but I have to get the pistol added to my permit. So I purchase it, take the paperwork to the sheriffs office, have them add the pistol to the permit, then I can pick up the gun. I am okay with that.

I've never heard the NRA claim that.
Our friend just did, but perhaps he just used less precision of speech than he should have.

As Homer says....
"But I'm mad now!"
Anyway, a 5 day waiting period to check people out makes sense to me.
But to waive it for those of us who are pre-checked also makes sense.
By the time I actually buy a gun, I've given a lot of thought to selecting it.
So once I finalize my choice.....I want it now!

FYI not all states require a waiting period to buy a handgun. Idaho for one. Pass the background check or have a CCW pay your money and walkout of the establishment with your purchases.

I know this. I was responding to jaegers post where he commented that to buy a gun you had to wait 5 days. That may be true in some cities or something, but not in most states. Some places require it with pistols. But in most of the country you can walk out of the store same day with a rifle or shotgun.

Perhaps @jeager106 drank a little too much Jagermeister when he posted, eh?

Nonsense?
Tell that to me and many other retired military and cops that get delays each and
every time despite have zero criminal records.
I even know a guy that had a d.u.i. years ago and gets a delay.
Why?
Beats me.
I know people with common last names like, Anderson, Smith, Jones, etc.
that get delays.
Why?
Don't know.
Yet one guy I know with SEVEN d.v. convictions and served up to 6 months in
jail can buy and gun and walk out with it the same day.

These days a 2nd or 3rd d.v. is automatically a felony unless a good lawyer
can somehow persuade a judge to reduce the charge.
(money talks and b.s. walks ya'know.)
Once the system has a "glitch" the glitch stays.

I'm not going to dispute what you say about delays. However I did look up the state laws of Ohio as far as purchasing firearms and it says there is no mandated waiting period to purchase long guns or handguns. However, as it is in all states a background check is required (note CCW permit holders are exempt from the background check). Now your state, Ohio, uses the Federal system for background checks, so who knows what the issue is there. Now in your case even though you are LEO (active or retired) you do don't need a permit to carry concealed so it would not be in your interest (money wise) to apply for a CCW
My brother who is a LEO has to get a background check to purchase and I don't since I have the CCW permit, yet he can carry concealed in any state (with certain restrictions). We live in the same state.

I guess the problem here is trying to figure out exactly how many of my fellow humans I have to shoot and kill to avoid the prospect of takeover by aliens.
It's pretty simple.
Just don't kill other humans unless they're about to attack you.
And for the aliens, all you really need is a board with a nail in it.

No I do not need a permit to carry concealed but I no longer do so.
I DO have one real handy however.
I was born at night but not last night.:D
When I travel to Florida I get a Florida State CCW permit. In Florida it's easy to get
a c. c. w.
I do it just to do it.
I shoot at an indoor range there which is always busy.
LOTS of gun totting SMART people live in Florida.
Gun sales are up, up, up, every year.
Great people in Florida.:D
I'm not sure but I think Pa. has o.k.'d open carry.

You are grasping at straws, attempting to defend a whole political movement that is by now undistinguishable from its own gross parodies.
Well said.

By the way, let's not forget that before Trump's extremely irresponsible and thoughtless joke, he once again lied about Hillary Clinton's position on guns. It is a lie to say she wants to abolish the Second Amendment. Trump knows it's a lie, but he lies the way most people breathe.
