the crucifiction

Well I think neither the disciple in question nor de Molay had hypothetical faith. One was hypothetically crucified in place of the messiah, the other was burnt at the stake for professing that that was the historical fact.

Well it would be suprising if I didn't know about the Templar. I come from Old European stock, I went through the British Old School system, and I wear two rather attractive seal rings on my left hand. I like to think that de Molay is the man who cut my path to Islam.

I was raised as an Anglican Christian, attending religious schools (read Church School, through Preparatory School, then Public School), and in 1993 recanted my Nicean Creed (read Trinity) by saying shahada, affirming my belief in the Tawheed of Allah and his last messenger with revelation in word, Muhammad, later recanting my Nicean Creed in writing to the Archbishop of Canterbury....When I reaffirmed my faith at Al Ahzar in Cairo in 1997, the scholar had me state...

As Shaddu La Ilaha Il Allah wa Muhammad Rasul Allah, wa Isa Rasul Allah, wa Musa Rasul Allah (saw).

The Devil's Advocate
AGAIN: To any mods who might be reading, is this thread appropriate for the discussion forums? My understanding was that the "discuss individual religions" forums were for people to share information regarding their own faiths or to ask questions about other faiths. It is my understanding that the discussion forums are not for people to come in and make attacks. If the poster wants to make an accusation against a religion, he can do it in the debate forums so that people can actually defend their faith when it is attacked.

***Note:*** This post number three in a series. There seem to be about half a dozen threads started by this poster that would be more appropriate in the debate forums, imo. And if I am wrong, I would like a clarification as to why.

Thanks. :)

We have no debate so far. It's a very one sided discussion.

That would seem a sensible move....tho' as 'Templar' is new I'm guessing he hasn't quite got to grips with the rules....a move might be sensible.

To open up the debate...have any of you ever come across the Judas crucifixion theory?

Actually, no I haven't. I'm curious, could you enlighten us?

you have the post read it and think about it

Now you're aware that thinking only helps some of us. Thinking for other people only increases their misunderstanding.

Sure it goes something like this...paraphrased and I can't bothered with chapter and verse (sorry, I will if I'm pushed but not tonight please!!!!!). Jesus was not an only child, first born of Mary, yes, only child no. Jesus' brothers (James and some have it Judas, tho' Judas may have been a cousin) travelled with him during his ministry. Things get a little hairy and the hierarchy in Jerusalem have it in for Jesus, so a counter plan is formed using a double. When the heat get's too much the Temple guards are lead to Judas the daggerman (read bodyguard, lit. Sicarii) in Garden of Gethsemane, who is kissed as thanks. Judas is 'hung from a tree', but does not die (i.e. spear of destiny already mentioned), he is brought down and reappears called brother (literally or figuratively depending what you believe), which gives us the character Thomas (lit. brother) formally known as Judas. Jesus meanwhile is as Jonah in the belly of the whale.
