What is the different between the holy ghost and the holy spirit according to christianity?I'm quite confused between them because i can read in the bible the holy ghost in some places and the holy spirit and other places and sometimes one of them do things and the other has other jobs.

God is a multi-deminsional entity. The trinity is a model of God. The Christians call it FATHER, SON, HOLY GHOST. Others call it Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva that is fine as well. Or the Kahunas of Hawaii calls the Trinity Ku, Kane and Kanola! The Native Americans call it Father Sky, Mother Earth, and The Great Spirit.

God is a Triune being, just as we on Earth are a triune being! We are superconscious, conscious and subconscious minds! We are a trinity as well! We are also a trinity in the sense of Mind, Body and Spirit! Just as God, Christ and the Holy Spirit are separate aspects of God and work as one consciousness, we have three separate aspects of consciousness, and our three minds need to work as one integrated mind! The three minds function as one mind once mastered and integrated just as God, Christ and the Holy Spirit do.

The Holy Ghost(Spirit) is the Divine Feminine of the Godhead. There is a divine masculine, a divine feminine, and a divine child (the product of the first two becoming one.

The Holy Spirit is the infuser, the inspiration or in-spirit-ation! The Holy Spirit is also the Voice for God! It is the Teacher, the Counselor, the Comforter! There are only two voices the voice of the Holy Spirit and the voice of the negative ego/fear based/separative mind which is in truth a figment of our imagination!

The Holy Spirit is the answer to all problems, challenges and lessons! The Holy Spirit is the undoer of the negative ego, so we may know our true identities as Christs! In truth, we don’t strive to become a Christ, we already are a Christ, for that is how God created us! We are just striving to realize this great truth through the development of consciousness and learning to be of the Spiritual/Christ/Buddha/God consciousness in an integrated and balanced way, and through the initiation and light body anchoring and activation process! The Holy Spirit also speaks for the “Atonement” or the “At-one-ment” or the undoing of all that which takes us away from this state of consciousness! The Holy Spirit breathes life into all things!

yes the holy spirit is God, and went over the waters in Gen. during the creation. The water, is Christ, and Jesus was just a man, Christ incarnate.

One is a Germanic noun, the other, Latin. Pretty much the synonyms, it seems to me.

Truth,

The terms "Holy Ghost" and "Holy Spirit" are synonymous.

The holy ghost is the same as the holy spirit. The holy ghost has always been around.

But the Comforter, Which is The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (Emphasis added).

(HOLY BIBLE) John 14: 26

Is that mean the comforter is a holy spirit too? can we use the term "holy spirit" in many things or only when we reffer to the holy ghost?
but what about this verse?

"The Comforter" is another of the Holy Ghost's titles. He acts in various roles, including comforter, teacher and revelator. So this verse could read, "But the Comforter, i.e. the Holy Spirit," whom the Father will send in my name, shall teach you all things and remind you of all things I have said."

thanks for you posts Scott1 and Katzpur.

one more thing please if you don't mind.

"Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you". (HOLY BIBLE) John 16:7

Is that means he wasn't there before Jesus so he will send his later on when he depart?

We believe the Holy Spirit is God, and was/is always present, and that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit on a mission to guide and comfort the Church after his assension.

I would read that differently (I usually Do)
I think Jesus is saying that while I am here you do not need the services of the comforter, But when I am gone be assured he will be with you.
He was reassuring them and reminding them, that the comfortor (Holy spirit ) is always with them.

This is a simpler explanation, with out the need of supposing that the infinite Holy spirit ever needs to be sent anywhere, as he is everywhere all the time.

This quote is in there because the holy spirit comforts us - it is a comforter

I agree that he holy spirit will come to comforts us.

Therefore, We can see in (John 1:20-21):

1:20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
1:21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? and he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
and:
1:25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet.

If we look up any Bible which has a concordance or cross-references, the we will find in the marginal note where the words "the Prophet", or "that Prophet" occur in John 1:25, that these words refer to the prophecy of Deuteronomy 18:15 and 18. And that 'that prophet' - 'the prophet like Moses' - "LIKE UNTO THEE" and all reffer to the comforter which is the holy spirit. So, this is spirit "the comforter" is a prophet and the prove is:

The same John, who is supposed to have authored the Gospel bearing his name, also penned three more Epistles which are also part of the Christian Bible. Amazingly he has used the same terminology of "Holy Spirit" for "Holy Prophet."

Beloved, believe not every Spirit, but try the Spirits whether they

are of God; because many false Prophets are gone out into the World.
(HOLY BIBLE) 1 John 4: 1

You can observe that the word spirit is used here synonymously with a prophet. A true spirit is a true prophet, and a false spirit is a false prophet, I recommend that you lay your hands on C.I. Scofield's Authorized King lames Version of the Bible who with an Editorial Committee of 9 D.D.’s adding their notes and comments. When they come to the First word "spirit" in the above verse they should give a notation to compare it with Matthew 7: 15 which confirms that false prophets are false spirits. So according to St. John the Holy Spirit is the Holy Prophet.

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every Spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God.
(HOLY BIBLE) 1 John 4: 2

According to John's own interpretation in verse one above the word "spirit" is synonymous with the word prophet So verse two "Spirit of God" would mean Prophet of God and "Every spirit" would stand for every Prophet You have a right to know.

So, After all these verses shall we think whether the comforter is a prophet or not?

you don't have to change your beliefs according to what i'm discussing here but it's just for the sake of knowledge and sharing information only if you don't mind.;)

Or do you believe that Jesus sent Mohammed? (but if I depart, I will send him unto you".)
hi Scott1, I believe he was a prophet and there are thousand of prophets who came to the world whether before Jesus or after according to Jesus himself.
