I think that is part of it - certainly, but I think it is also the recognition of how wonderful life and Nature are, how beautiful true love is........orichalcum said:The only reason I can think of is that by believeing in him, your giving him acknowledement for your life.
Amen... God only provides us the grace to believe in Him so that we may begin to know Him and his love.carrdero said:It is not mandatory or necessary to believe in GOD. You can and will exist without this belief and so will GOD.
I have a certian amount of faith in my friends and family, because they've given me reason to have it.Unedited said:I don't believe it's important to believe in God, but just to believe in something. At the very least, having faith in something is good for our mental health. This doesn't mean I think atheism is wrong; beliving there is no god is something.
Applauds blueman....:jiggy:blueman said:It is God's will to have a relationship with us through His Son, Jesus Christ, who sacrificed Himself on the cross to redeem mankind. Through his death and resurrection, we are redeemed, since He interceded on our behalf. In order to have a relationship with God, you have to believe He exists and He is who He said He is through the Word of God (Holy Bible).
I am a CWG-ist, which is similar in some ways to Taoists. I love the Tao Te Ching. God does not care one way or another what we believe or what we do.Master Vigil said:As a Taoist and a Vigil, my understanding of Tao is that it doesn't care what you believe, because it has no human emotions. But you will benefit by understanding the Tao, for you then can live a balanced, peaceful life.
Not if I realised I could just as easily offer some concrete proof and not expect it to be a guessing game.Xaero4 said:Though God isn't going to lose anything if you choose not to believe, he still feels betrayed, I'm sure. He created you, yet you defy him as your creator. Wouldn't you feel betrayed?
God does offer concrete proof. Believers believe, because they have some personal proof that God exits. The proof cannot come from another man/womans experience. If someone does not believe in God/Allah/Abba, they will never hear the voice of God, or see the miracles that are right in front of their eyes.Original Freak said:Not if I realised I could just as easily offer some concrete proof and not expect it to be a guessing game.
