Noahs Ark

Regardless of what you believe, I think we can all agree that it was just wrong of Noah to allow the unicorns, dragons, and chimeras to be left behind.

Done here.
If everybody's beautiful in his own way, it must be said that some ways of being beautiful are mighty hard to appreciate.

what happened to all the dead corpses - animal and human. With all the animals it seems that Noah and his family would have spent all their time shoveling night and day to keep up with all the maure production. If they dumped the manure in the water, combined with the rotting bodies, it wouldn't have smelled like a bed of roses. The worldwide deluge did not happen based on science, theology, common sense and what my grandmother told me! It's a myth. Those religious "scientists" who make claims that there is sufficient proof that the flood occurred are still shoveling sh... er ah manure.

Hi kingcores ~ If the Flood was regional why would Noah have to build the Ark? All he would have to do is take the animals to a region where the flood did not happen. The story implies it had to be a worldwide flood to save all the animals and 8 humans from being flooded to death like all the other humans and animals would die in the flood.:)
You have to remember though that almost the entirety of the bible took place in the middle east. There is no mention of any other location in the world. As far as they new the middle might have been the whole world.

All materials usually break in the centre, or close to it. In the case of wood it maybe different because wood is full of imperfections causing weak spots. Perhaps we should work out a mock size for it and i will do the force calculations for this boat?

A wooden boat at least as big as a football field made of wood would last 10 seconds in turbulent water. Wood with an Elastic Modulus of about 14 GPa in water with a reynolds number of anything 5x10^6 would could great force. I doubt Noah knew he would have to weigh down the ends of his boat in order to offset the forces it would be subjected to.

Back in the day they used to cover boats with pitch. I doubt you could find enough pitch to cover the bottom of a boat the size of a football field.

Oh but god did it remember? He would have imparted His unending knowledge to Noah. Also he imparted to Noah the knowledge to build the pyramids, but he forgot to bless noah with imortality.

Beware. It's been scientifically established that it is impossible to tell a parody of a creationist from an actual creationist.

Yeh typical Christianity. When their book fails remind the world that God can do what he wants and break the laws of everything. How credible lol

Yeah and their final argument is "you just have to have faith". Lol right...I have faith in my seatbelt in my car, I can feel it, touch it and I KNOW it can save my life. Now maybe if they start making bullet proof bibles I might carry one in my breast pocket, then I would have a little faith...

Not at all, my conclusion is based on the fact that the biblical account is an impossibility. It has nothing to do the "the way I wish" but everything to do with reason, logic, and scientific evidence, or in the case of said flood, lack of.
I am continually amazed that intelligent humans shape their entire existence based on a mythological story.
Don't ever get into an intellectual discussion about what's in the Bible.

Don't ever get into an intellectual discussion about what's in the Bible.

And yet his point remains valid and shared by an overwhelming consensus of geologist as well as engineers who make it their business in designing massive boats. None of them side with bible literalist that there is enough water to cover the earth to produce a WWF or that a supposed Noah could fashion a boat out of wood, making larger than any boat in existence today.....and be able to withstand violent/turbulent oceanic conditions and not be ripped apart.
