I am always learning, through all kinds of experiences, media, etc. So, what is something you learned today?

I learned that a hardwood table is insufficient as a working surface for clay

On a more serious note, I learned that the Celtic Ogam has much more to do with words and letters than it does with tree associations (as is the popular notion).

Today I learned the Hebrew word "shalam," which means whole or complete.

I learned that the English word "holy" means "naked" in Slovakian.

Guess that would be a bit disconcerting for a Slovakian worshiping in an American church.

I learned either that 1 out of four american adults didn't read a book last year or that my intro to mass communications professor will lie to persuade us to read more.

Hon, at 40 I got bifocals and at 45 got trifocals and haven't seen well since. Just wait!

I also learned that my abuse prevention class doesn't start until the middle of the semester. I learned this after walking all the way across campus, sitting in an almost empty class for fifteen minutes, and then walking all the way back across campus to my dorm.
