The message of the cross is foolishness!

It apears you are proclaiming the gospel of love, the same gospel according to Scuba Pete.

No, I'm just clowning around with you. I think you're whole approach is its own counterargument. Frankly, there's nothing I need say. So I'm just kicking back and having fun watching you flail at ghosts. Hey, A_E! I like mine medium-well.

How foolish is this passage to the unbeliever? The gospel is veiled to those who are perishing; The god of this age (Satan) has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. I'm sure most unbelievers find this passage a great offense and foolishness in regards to this aspect of the gospel; don't you agree?

I think I get you now, Special Revelation. You start out with this book (the Bible) which tells you that all unbelievers are blinded or tricked by Satan. Instead of rationally debating with us, you simply quote from your book and anyone who disagrees with you is obviously a Child of Satan.

There is on earth among all dangers no more dangerous thing than a richly endowed and adroit reason, especially if she enters into spiritual matters which concern the soul and God. For it is more possible to teach an *** to read than to blind such a reason and lead it right; for reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed." "Faith must trample underfoot all reason, sense, and
understanding, and whatever it sees it must put out of sight, and wish to know nothing but the word of God.

Hey Doppel...why won't you let everyone know what you beileve in regards to Satan? I will call your ball in your hand... the CRYSTAL BALL, is that okay?

Proof-texting is not only uncompelling, it's just bad scholarship...and it doesn't work.

Everyone is born into this world as children of Satan. We are all descibed as children of wrath, children of darkness, and children of disobedience (Ephesians 1). I once was a child of satan and child of darkness. I am proclaiming to you to be reconciled to God through Christ and become a child of the light. Is this foolishness and an offense to you?

It appears we believe in a different Jesus and a different gospel.

All people have a different Jesus and a different Gospel. These are reflections of symbols within the individual, which are reflections of the larger culture. We exist in different worlds. Your "customized" Jesus and Gospel are relevent to you, and reflect your inner world. Scuba Pete's Jesus and Gospel reflect his. Mine refect mine.

If someone doesn't believe the words of the Bible to be true, why would it be offensive? Is the story of Talesin offensive to you?

BTW, you still haven't answered my questions in post 59.

I, for one, would be much more inclined to take Special Revelation's points to heart if he'd reveal what kind of underwear he has on. It is very difficult for a reasonable man, such as myself, to feel he has all the information he needs about a spiritual truth when he doesn't even know the underwear of the people who profess the truth.

Or mine in #74 of the "Satan" thread. I tried to show him the truth as revealed in the collected works of George Elliot when he first arrived. But his eyes were blinded and his ears closed to receive the truth. What can you do? Oh, I know, keep posting it over and over and over and over . . . that'll do the trick . . .

I would say the opposite. We are born as Children of God (innocence, without knowledge), and are rapidly brought up as Children of Satan(full of knowledge, corrupted by Ego). We spend our lives attempting to go one way or the other, when really we should simply accept that we are both.

And that is okay!

I have to go to work my friend. I don't really believe you are an attorney by the amount of time you spend on this site.

Stay tuned - the spiritual battle we continue. The Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God verses the magic of the crystal ball...

Hey SR, if I'm supposed to be offended by the Bible, does that mean that you're supposed to be offended by the Lebor na hUidre?

Oh, and incidentally, I know who's winning the fight so far.

The Gospel isn't the Gospel of love?

Why did God send his Son? Love. Why did Christ suffer and die on the cross? Love.

Life is full of pain and suffering. Love grows from it as plants grow from manure. Through the debating on this thread, much wisdom has been shared and cultivated.

Nono, didn't you know? God has a list of people who he decided are the "elect", and only sent his son to die for them. God doesn't give a crap about anybody else. :)
